The Hidden World Beneath the Crust

Long ago before humans took over the surface world, the planet was a lot different then what we know it as today. It was a primitive world. A dangerous world. Full of magic and wonder. A world that was created by a race of beings known to early humans as agelings. Later societies would call them gods. They created earth to be an oasis. They created all kinds of creatures. Some you would consider myths now and yes I'm talking about those myths, but most were not. I'm not going to list them because we'd be here all day.

They were known as agelings due to the fact that they looked like very young kids but don't let their childlike demeanor fool you they were the most powerful beings in the cosmos. They almost always had some sort of mythical creature as a sidekick or protecter of sorts, not that they needed it, and a portion of their power depended on that creature. The most powerful ones had dragons but some had phoenixes, unicorns, satyrs, etc. But one of these beings known as Dunchad wanted more he had gotten board with the current world, much like kids sometimes get board with a game or whatnot and so created humans to share the oasis with, to play with, because after all they were very childlike in nature.

Everything was going great as the years past. The agelings had playmates that they could do whatever they wanted with, but their was one thing that the agelings didnt take into account when they agreed to allow Dunchad to creating the human playmates. He was mischievous and sly. He wanted things to be interesting so he gave them free will. He also made them age quite quickly, having a life span of just shy of a century.

The more the humans aged the more they started to see the agelings as immature and childish beings that would lose interest in them once they hit a certain age.

The adult humans didn't like the way the agelings were treating them so they left the agelings promising to worship them in return for their freedom. The agelings seeing this as an opportunity to gain even more power was quick to agree.

As the human population got bigger and villages turned into towns and towns into cities the agelings and the rest of the mythical world faded into the background. They were still their and they helped the humans as much as they could, but the agelings saw how violent and jealous the humans were and swore to never get involved with human affairs again after they discovered that it was their meddling that caused the humans to become jealous and then violent in the first place. The decision angered the humans and to get back at them each kingdom created its own religion where they worshiped the source energy or what modern day christians call God instead and labeled the agelings as demons.

The agelings decided to leave the humans alone but got a little concerned when a race of reptilians known as the Kabal came here through a portal. The agelings were very familiar with this race of beings and approached them warning them not to get involved or disrupt the lives of the humans on the planet. This particular race of reptilians thrive on fear and are carnivores beings. The Kabal agreed and for one hundred years they did nothing. Blending into the Human populations. Seeing this, Dunchad came up with an elaborate plan that included him being worshipped as God or whatever variation of the entity. He went to the leaders of the Kabal and told them his plan. The Kabal of course wanted something out of the deal as well so requested complete control of the human population. Dunchad agreed to this and a relationship was forged. The years that followed saw Dunchads power increase substantially while the Kabal took over the religions. 

The agelings noticed the vibration of the humans decreasing little by little so sent a human soul known by many today as Jesus Christ. His job was to teach about love, Light and Positivity. The Kabal saw this as a direct threat and eliminated him by nailing him to a cross. They also saw an opportunity to increase their hold over the humans by taking Jesus Teachings and twisting them to their own benefit. Creating what most of modern humanity knows as the Catholic Church. 

These religions are still popular today and are used more to control the population than anything else. They created legions that would hunt the mythical creatures and agelings as well as the Humans that could use magic. The humans that blindly followed the catholic church hunted and hunted and hunted but could not find a single creature or ageling, they had vanished. So They focused on eliminating Magic and any knowledge of it. They destroyed the Library of Alexandria after first taking a copy of every single manuscript and hiding it in their base in Rome. 

Over the years there would be rumors of sightings and folks that claimed to have been visited, but there was no concrete evidence of their existence and soon they were labeled as myths. There were some humans that stayed loyal to them. These people would be later known as pagans or devil worshipers as the Christians put it. These people were hunted down and forced to convert and when they refused to renounce their gods they would be executed.

As the agelings watched their few worshippers disappear so did the power that they had gained from allowing the humans their freedom.

The humans never did stop hunting the agelings and their mythical creatures. Modern day humans call them aliens now and a secret war has been raging for hundreds of years. All the major governments of the world believed that since they couldn't find the the agelings they would destroy nature thinking that they will destroy the agelings with it. And it's been working for hundreds of years until now.
