Suzanne took a slow sip of her coffee, her gaze never leaving Josie. "Enjoy your day," she said, her tone cool but pointed. "Both of you."
She left the kitchen before either of them could respond, her heels clicking like a gavel delivering judgment.
Throughout the day, Suzanne worked on her own plan. With Josie in the house, she'd have access to her habits, her routines. It wouldn't be hard to find a weak spot, a moment where Josie let her guard down.
