She began methodically. The bookshelves first – running her fingers along the edges, checking for hidden compartments. Each movement was deliberate, careful. She pulled books slightly forward, listened for any unusual sounds, checked for loose panels.
Since she couldn't access his safe the other night, she hoped to find anything here.
