Maria gave her a sympathetic look. "I know you're angry. But we have to be patient. We can't make accusations without evidence."
"I don't need evidence to know what's in his heart," Suzanne said, her voice a whisper but edged with venom. "I know what kind of man he is."
As she exited the precinct, a new determination fell over her. She'd been waiting long enough. Whatever it took, she was going to make Andrei pay. Suzanne was no longer merely seeking justice for her sister.
She was looking for vengeance. She sat at her kitchen table, looking at the phone in her palm. David's name flashed over the screen. Her initial reaction was to refuse the call. After everything that had transpired between her and Andrei, she wasn't sure she wanted to deal with him straight away. She wasn't sure she could deal with anyone at the moment.
