We all lined up in the training yard and looked at the platform where the trainers stood to hear what the first training session was.
"Welcome, recruits! Since it's your first day, we won't make the training too hard. So, we'll start with a warm-up."
Most people felt relieved when they heard this, thinking they would go easy on us, but I knew where this was going because of his broad smile.
"For the warm-up, 200 laps around the training yard."
Everyone's faces paled upon hearing the trainer's words, and some even looked like their souls had left their bodies.
"Come on, start now! You have three hours; anyone who is late will see what happens."
The trainer smiled as he said this.
"By the way, my name is Alex Vanderhorn. Pleased to meet you all."
He then stepped down from the platform, took out a pocket watch, and started checking the time.
The recruits began running around the yard while the trainers stood at the corners, watching what was happening.
'The distance of one lap is about 100 meters, which means we will run 20 kilometers.'
"By the way, anyone using mana to strengthen their body will have to do 400 laps."
I started running at a moderate speed and kept my breathing steady so I wouldn't tire quickly.
After fifty laps, most recruits were breathing heavily and had slowed down.
"You look like you're going to fall."
I spoke while running next to Ravina, who was now sweating profusely and dragging her feet to take another step.
"These physical activities are not my strong suit."
"Oh, well, see you."
I sped up and caught up with the rest of the recruits because Ravina was five laps behind us.
'This is getting boring? I will finish this quickly.'
I didn't want to finish this training quickly because I wanted to save my energy for the next training, but I decided to finish quickly and spend the rest of the time resting.
I gradually increased my speed until it was difficult for the other recruits to keep up with me.
Everyone was surprised by my speed, even the trainers standing on the side.
'What is this? My eyes can't keep up with his speed! How is he moving this fast without using mana? Can I run this fast while using mana?'
Trainer Alex thought as he watched the training yard.
After 10 minutes, caden stopped running and walked towards the trainers.
"What are you doing, recruit? Get back to training."
Trainer Alex spoke to Kaiden when he saw him approaching, but he was surprised by the recruit's response.
"I have finished 200 laps."
"What did you say?"
"I have finished 200 laps."
"Oh! Well, go and rest."
Trainer Alex replied, confused, and told him to go rest.
'He doesn't even seem tired.'
He thought as he watched Kaiden, who now sat under a tree and closed his eyes to rest.
(Three hours later)
"Well done, everyone! Only one person failed: Recruit Ravina! No dinner for you tonight."
"Sir, Ravina has fainted."
"Inform her of her punishment when she wakes up."
I felt a little sorry for her as I watched her fainted from exhaustion.
"You now have one hour of rest, and then we will continue."
"Caden, we're going to eat. Will you come with us?"
"Sure, I'm coming."
Lucas suggested we go eat, and I agreed because I was feeling a little hungry.
Before I went, I took one last look at Ravina, who was now in agony after waking up and being informed of her punishment.
I smiled and continued on with the others.
When we arrived, we found an empty table, and Leon went to get food.
"That was amazing, Kaiden! How did you manage to run that fast without even using mana? To be honest, even if I used mana, I couldn't keep up with you."
I didn't answer and remained silent because I didn't know what was up with this strange body myself.
Finally, Leon arrived with the food, and we began to eat.
I noticed the people sitting here mostly had one or two stars on their shoulders.
After we finished eating, I looked at the other recruits and recognized a few familiar faces, but I didn't stare long. I took my tray and went outside.
I went to the training yard and saw Ravina sitting near the tree I was under earlier, with her head between her legs.
She looked up when she heard my footsteps and stared at me.
"What? Did you come to mock me?"
I didn't speak but handed her the tray of food and sat next to her.
"Is this for me? Thank you! You are kind, unlike how you look from the outside."
I remained silent, gazing at the stars in the sky. It was a rare sight in my previous world, so I enjoyed it whenever I had the chance.
"But man, that was amazing! How did you do that?"
Ravina asked me as she quickly ate due to her hunger.
"You will choke on your food if you continue eating like that. Eat slowly."
But Ravina began crawling away from me, clutching the tray of food, with a cautious look in her eyes.
"Are you trying to flirt with me? I apologize, but a few kind words and a tray of food won't work."
She spoke as she stuffed food into her mouth quickly.
"Hahahahaha."
But I laughed, and laughed so hard that tears started rolling down my cheeks.
This was the first time I had laughed since coming to this world, and it was because of this silly girl.
"Man, are you crazy?"
I didn't care about her comment and continued to laugh as I wiped my tears, but I didn't notice the small smile on Ravina's lips.
