Chapter 15 - Ch 15: Headshot

Amidst the mocking laughter of the thugs, one of them couldn't resist the opportunity to taunt Surya further. "Are you planning to shoot bullets from your hand?" he jeered, their laughter ringing through the alleyway like a cruel echo.

Their words sparked a chorus of mockery, as two other thugs joined in the ridicule. With exaggerated gestures, one of them mimicked Surya, pointing an imaginary gun at his accomplice.

"Now watch out, I'm aiming at you," he quipped, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Playing along with the charade, the other thug responded in kind. "Oh please, don't shoot me," he replied, his tone exaggeratedly dramatic.

In a theatrical display, the first thug dramatically mimed firing a shot, causing his companion to collapse in a melodramatic skit.

The performance elicited uproarious laughter from the assembled group, some doubling over in fits of mirth while others struggled to contain their amusement.

Caught in the midst of their mockery, Surya could feel his frustration growing, but he knew that he had to remain composed. With Arjun's guidance urging him to stay calm, he suppressed the urge to lash out, knowing that his patience would ultimately serve him well in navigating this perilous situation.

As Arjun's instructions echoed in his ear, Surya hesitated for a moment, grappling with the gravity of the situation. But amidst the chaos and confusion, he chose to place his trust in Arjun's guidance.

Summoning all his resolve, Surya followed Arjun's directive, aiming his hand towards the mocking thug's head and uttering the word,

"Bang!"

In the split second that followed, a deafening gunshot shattered the silence, piercing through the air with lethal precision.

Shockwaves rippled through the alleyway as the bullet found its mark, striking the thug squarely in the forehead.

A collective gasp escaped the lips of the assembled group, their laughter evaporating into stunned silence. Time seemed to stand still as the thug crumpled to the ground, blood pooling beneath him, a stark testament to the sudden and violent turn of events.

In the wake of the tragedy, a heavy pall of disbelief hung over the alleyway, as the harsh reality of the situation sank in. With wide-eyed horror, the remaining thugs stood frozen in shock, their mocking jeers silenced by the chilling realization of the scenario that unfolded in front of them.

Following Arjun's directive, Surya acted swiftly, raising both hands and pointing them at the remaining thugs, his voice resolute as he repeated the word, "Bang," with each motion.

With each utterance, a gunshot rang out, the sound reverberating through the alleyway as the remaining thugs fell one by one, their bodies succumbing to the deadly force of Surya's actions.

In the blink of an eye, the once-boisterous group lay defeated, their mocking laughter silenced by the harsh reality of their demise.

As the dust settled and the chaos subsided, only two thugs remained, their weapons dropped in a gesture of surrender.

Kneeling before Surya, their voices trembled with fear as they pleaded for mercy.

"Please, spare us," they implored, their words tinged with desperation. "We won't breathe a word of this to anyone. Please, show us mercy."

With a heavy heart and a solemn gaze, Surya approached the two remaining thugs, his footsteps echoing through the silence that hung heavy in the aftermath of the confrontation. As he drew near, his voice carried a weight of judgment as he addressed them.

"If the tables were turned, if I had fallen into your trap, would you have shown mercy to me?" he questioned, his words laden with a sense of righteous indignation.

As they were unable to give any response, Surya raised his hand, his finger pointed at the two thugs before him. With a sense of finality, he uttered the word, "Bang!"

In an instant, the stillness of the alleyway was shattered by the sound of gunfire, the echo of Surya's declaration ringing through the air.

With a grim determination, both thugs fell to the ground, their bodies succumbing to the same fate they had intended for him.

As the first gunshot reverberated through the air, sending shockwaves of fear rippling through the alleyway, the thug who had stepped away for washroom felt a surge of panic grip in his heart.

In that split second, his mind raced with a flurry of dire possibilities, he thought that his friends had killed Athene.

With each successive shot that followed, his apprehension grew, a knot of worry tightening in the pit of his stomach.

Hastening his pace, he hurried back to the scene, his footsteps quickening with a sense of urgency as he sought to uncover the truth behind the chaos unfolding before him.

Arriving at the scene, he concealed himself from view, his heart pounding with anticipation as he strained to catch a glimpse of the unfolding events.

Unbeknownst to him, Arjun's keen eye had already spotted his presence through the surveillance camera he had planted the day before.

Through the earpiece, Arjun's voice cut through the tension, guiding Surya's actions with unwavering precision.

With a steady hand and a resolute gaze, Surya aimed his weapon at the precise location where the thug lay hidden, poised to strike at any moment.

At Arjun's command, Surya uttered the word, "Bang," and in an instant, the hidden thug fell to the ground, a victim of his own deception.

Rushing to the scene, Surya's heart sank as he beheld the fallen body of yet another accomplice, a casualty of the violence that had engulfed them all.

Arjun's reassurance fell on Surya's ears like a distant echo as he struggled to regain his composure.

The weight of the situation bore down on him, overwhelming his senses with a rush of nausea. With each retch, he felt the bile rise in his throat, his body reacting instinctively to the shock and horror of the scene before him.

Through the haze of his discomfort, Surya heard Arjun's voice, urging him to collect the belongings from the fallen criminals and retreat to the safety of the hotel.

With trembling hands and a queasy stomach, he forced himself to focus on the task at hand, pushing aside his overwhelming sense of revulsion as he set about retrieving the bag from atop the building.

With each step, Surya's resolve hardened, his determination to see the mission through overshadowing his physical discomfort.

As he reached the rooftop, he retrieved the bag and began to gather the scattered belongings of the fallen criminals, his movements methodical despite the churning turmoil within him.

Once the task was complete, Surya took a moment to compose himself, wiping the sweat from his brow and taking a deep breath to steady his nerves.

With a newfound sense of resolve, he made his way back to the hotel, his mind reeling with the events of the day.

As he cleaned himself up and prepared to return to the safety of his temporary refuge, Surya couldn't shake the lingering sense of unease that clung to him like a shadow
