"Bring it on you filthy vermins!" Malphas driven by excitement exclaimed, it wasn't everyday a high ranking general got the opportunity to handle a human.
He swung his serrated claws sideways at Rai as they both got in range, as an act of defense Rai flipped over the general evading the danger that befell him. Abigail who was directly behind Rai as they dashed forward to confront their opponent found an opening. Infusing light energy in her right hand, she utilized one of her abilities [Solar Fists] and aimed a blow at Malphas.
"Pathetic!" The demon general commented on her use of the Royal essence in fighting a high ranking demon. Placing his other arm underneath his claws, he caught her fist with ease.
At the same time, before Rai could execute a full flip over the general, he grabbed the back shoulders of Malphas and twisted his body to his right before aiming a round house kick at the back of Malphas's neck.
"Is that all you lots have to offer? How insulting!" Malphas in a fit of rage turned around instantly and threw Abigail by her fist into Rai. "Show me all you have human!" He added swiftly sending his right palm into Abigail's stomach as they still floated in the air.
Veins sprouted in the neck and face of Abigail as her eyes expanded in shock and agony due to the demons strength. She forcefully ejected blood from her mouth, the two mages were violently propelled backward by the sheer force of the general's palm. Their eyes widen in shock as the impact sends them hurtling through the air, their limbs flailing in an attempt to regain balance. The force behind Malphas palm distorted their movements, their hair swept back and clothes rippling in the wind generated by his attack.
Ultimately, both mages crashed into the ground with a resounding thud, Abigail left in a shape far worse than Rai as she acted as some sort of cushion for him.
Two of her ribs were cracked in that last clash, if it wasn't for the essence of Gaianox that surrounded her body it would have been more fatal.
"Is this the best you can do human? I guess my reason for being concerned were nothing but overreactions." Malphas said referring to Rai.
"I-it's...not over yet.." Abigail spoke weakly trying desperately to get to her knees.
"Abigail.." Rai stuttered as he got to his knees groaning. He placed his hands on her in order to verify her condition and when he did, a slight grunt escaped his mouth. He was pissed.
He could only feel concern understanding the burden she carried on her shoulders. "That's enough, you don't need to push yourself further anymore. I'll take care of him." He said with a dim look in his eyes as he stood to his feet, the more the battle progressed the more his bloodlust came back to him.
He tore off the cloak on his shoulder and stared down at Malphas who had a slight grin on his face. "Rai.."Abigail stuttered softly as she groaned while holding her mid-section.
"If there's one thing about you humans, it's that you're brave enough to face your own death." Malphas said.
BOOM!
The ground beneath his feet shattered with every step he took displaying just how strong he was and how fast he also was. Like a blur he arrived swiftly behind Rai who could barely read his movements.
"Die!" He exclaimed as he aimed his serrated claws at the head of Rai hoping to decapitate him once and for all.
[Skill (Neuro Echo) has been activated]
A notification popped up in a blue HUD window in front of Rai's field of vision, Rai tilted his neck sideways at the last moment so fast that it appeared like it was out of instincts.
"What!?" Malphas exclaimed in shock. "There's was no way that a human should be able to read my movements, was that unintentional? No it doesn't matter." Malphas contemplated within his thoughts.
He immediately slashed his claws downwards at Rai in a "X" like fashion, his hands moved at a speed that even Abigail and Rai's eyes could not follow at all.
However, before his sharp claws could penetrate Rai's skin, he backflipped into the air and as he descended he sent his right leg into the skull of Malphas.
A slight wind current blew outwards in every direction as Malphas was sent head first into the ground. Rai landed a few meters away from him and he gazed upon him with a cold aura slowly emanating from his body.
Neuro Echo, a skill which allowed Rai to create and send electromagnetic impulses into the ground as a result of his affinity for electricity. This impulses escapes his body and spreads out around a ten meter radius capturing everything within its range before returning to his nervous system and his brain processes it as visual imagery.
Because of this, he didn't require his five senses to fight and he was able to see any attacks coming once it enters this skill range even if his eyes couldn't.
"Let's get this over with." All of the essence given to him by Gaianox flowed into his right palm. He used that essence and built up a huge spiraling ball of energy surrounded by several sparks of green electricity. "Primordial Earth Technique:...Raisen." He uttered with the understanding that if he allowed the general time to recover, he'd lose the battle as he didn't utilize his full power.
He raised his right palm into the air and the sparkling ball of energy grew larger and larger thanks to the influence of the primordial earth essence. Eventually it became as large as a building.
Rai stretched out his right leg, attempting to plunge forward he stopped as quickly as he moved. The Raisen technique in his palm slowly dissipated as all Rai could see the next moment was complete darkness.
"What is this?" He asked calmly.
As Rai stared closely into the darkness that swallowed him, he discovered two huge eyes staring back at him. Whatever it was, it repelled the Raisen he spent all the essence he was given building up.
"W-who are you?" Rai with a shaky voice, inquired out of terror to what he saw.
