What she ended up finding was a hatch of some sort.
The metal plate was easily removed by my eyes and revealed a ladder into the darkness.
" Well shit.. " I peered down the abyss. " Of course it's some creepy ladder. "

I gave her a pointed look but she either ignored it or have no self awareness. But her words did have some impact on my imagination, they could be hiding down there. Silent Nosferatu looking creeps.

I leaned closer examining it and used my ears to hear something coming from down but there was nothing but the signature silent of the forest.
" Wanna draw straws or .. " she smiled at me.
It was a bit of a shock that she had humor but a pleasant one.
