"My uncle didn't have a descendant with his Luna. And no illegitimate child could become the heir. But the future's so uncertain. He could reject his Luna and took his illegitimate son in." I told Conrad more of the stories.
"So that's why you traded. You traded yourself, trained to be an assassin and became the best weapon he had. Just only for your brother to become the alpha."
I nodded. The reality I spoke felt bitter in my mouth.
I was so ashamed as this conversation went. This was like I put all of my insecurities in a showcase. Conrad could see, and do it exactly like he wanted to be.
"It doesn't make sense," Conrad said, "Why are you here as a slave? I've already done the basic searching. Your uncle is dead, Eliana. The power he left won't be that strong to kick you from the pack. Your brother is there."
"What if I told you it was my brother?" I lost the strength in my voice.
"What?" He sounded surprised.
