"Well, is this a trap?" Marius asked, glancing to his right where Ayla stood, her eyes fixed on the pressure plate.
The goddess remained silent without uttering a single word.
Marius shifted, his gaze flicking back and forth between Ayla and the pressure plate. "I'd rather you check it out first," he said.
The prospect of confronting the unknowns of death seemed less intimidating if he didn't have to be the one to initiate it.
