Chapter 14 - Destined Encounter

Blake:

Waking up at my usual 5 in the morning—or so I thought, only to find the sun already high in the sky. I've never been one to sleep in, but looking at the beautiful creature lying beside me, it was tempting to linger in bed. She was draped across me, her naked form radiating warmth, and I had no complaints.

Her jet-black hair cascaded over her shoulders, her lips parted slightly as she slept, an adorable sight that stole my breath away. I couldn't believe that I had finally found her.

***Flashback to a few days earlier***

"Alpha, I heard the piece of clothing we found has the same scent as one of the girls who arrived in the city a few months back," my beta reported.

I examined the garment that had landed in my lap yesterday morning during the commute. The scent had triggered a revelation—it was her, my mate. How had I missed her scent until now? Unless she was masking it deliberately, she must not be from around here.

Exiting the car, I instructed my beta and Gemma to search the area, but they found no trace. "Station some men here; she either lives or works nearby. Keep an eye out for her," I commanded Gemma.

"She works at Giovanni downtown, but she hasn't been in since a confrontation with a wolf yesterday," Jake, my beta, added.

"Let's pay a visit to the restaurant. It's been a while since I last saw Grandpa; this could be the perfect excuse."

"Pop's," I greeted my grandfather, who co-owned an Italian restaurant with my grandmother.

"You're finally back, you young rascal. I thought you'd abandoned us for your parents in Italy," he teased.

"Don't be dramatic, Pop. We spoke every day, and you knew I was coming home. I'm here now," I replied.

"Hey, big bro, finally decided to grace us with your presence?" Sarah teased as she wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug.

"Hey, squirt," I chuckled, ruffling her hair affectionately. "You missed me that much, huh?"

Sarah rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh, please. Don't flatter yourself. I just wanted to make sure you didn't forget what your family looks like."

"Like I could ever forget," I replied with a grin. "How's business at Pop's? Still breaking hearts with your charm?"

Sarah laughed. "As if. But speaking of charm, guess who's been causing a stir at the restaurant lately?"

My interest piqued. "Do tell. Anyone caught your eye?"

Sarah leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Well, there's this new delivery girl. Mia, I think her name is. Let's just say she's been getting more attention than your usual pasta special."

"What's so special about her?" I asked, intrigued.

Sarah smirked. "Oh, you'll have to see for yourself. But I have a feeling she's going to be a regular topic of conversation around here."

"Well, I'll be sure to pay her a visit soon," I replied, feeling a hint of excitement.

Sarah nudged me playfully. "Oh, I'm sure you will. Just remember, big bro, don't scare her away with that intense gaze of yours."

I chuckled, giving her a mock glare. "Hey, I can't help it if I have a strong presence. It's part of my charm."

"Uh-huh, sure it is," Sarah teased, giving me a playful shove. "Just don't forget to use those smooth-talking skills of yours instead of intimidating her with your alpha vibes."

"Got it, boss," I replied with a grin. "Smooth as silk, no intimidation tactics. I'll have her eating out of the palm of my hand in no time."

With a final laugh and a playful punch to my arm, Sarah turned back to her work, leaving me with a smile on my face and a newfound excitement for what the future might hold.

It had been days of restlessness, Blaze constantly on my mind. On a Friday, my sister texted that Mia would deliver my lunch. Watching her approach the building, I marveled at her beauty. As she entered my office, her presence took my breath away.

Her black hair tinged with red and blue, her fingers delicate yet strong—she was a vision. When our eyes met, I urged my inner wolf to calm, ensuring we didn't scare away our potential mate.

"You feel that, Blaze?" I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.

Blaze's presence surged within me, a low growl rumbling in the back of my mind. "I feel it, Alex. She's the one we've been searching for. Our mate."

I nodded, my gaze never leaving Mia's. "She's beautiful, isn't she? I can't believe we finally found her."

"She's more than beautiful, Alex. She's our destiny," Blaze replied, his voice filled with conviction.

A sense of anticipation coursed through me as I watched Mia, knowing that our lives were about to change forever. With Blaze by my side, I felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

"We'll do whatever it takes to protect her," I vowed, my voice strong and unwavering.

"Agreed, Alex. She belongs with us, and we'll make sure she knows it," Blaze affirmed, his presence a reassuring in my mind.

With a silent nod, I turned my attention back to Mia, a sense of determination filling me. Together, Blaze and I would ensure that our mate was safe and loved, no matter what obstacles stood in our way.

"Mate," I said to her, looking her deep in the eyes.

The next thing she said made me see red.

She wanted me to reject? I was not the first; does this mean someone was stupid enough to give up on this beauty once?

But after we got over the conversation of rejection and the kiss god was heavenly.

***end of flashback***

I looked down at her, seeing that she was fast asleep. She must be exhausted after last night, after losing her virginity to me and us spending hours just in each other's arms. We went to take a shower where I lost control and fucked her against the shower wall. She fit so perfectly in my hand, her hands gripping my shoulders and nails digging into my back. We did it again in the bedroom where she finally passed out, and I helped clean her up.

Putting her on the bed so I could use the bathroom after a quick shower, I walked out of the room, leaving a note behind that I went to grab us something to eat. I could mind-link someone to just bring the food up, but after the way she felt about the pack last night, I needed to address that so I could make my mate feel at home.

I mind-linked the pack, saying there would be a pack meeting asap.

Before I got to the pack main hall, everyone was there. I looked at them with a glare, making them all swallow.

"First things first, I would like to say good morning and welcome to this meeting. I found my mate yesterday and, to be honest, I'm disappointed in the looks she got from most of you. I don't care for your opinions or as to why you did what you did, but you better show her the respect she is due or you will all have me to contend with.

One more thing: we will be holding the Luna crowning ceremony at the end of next week after she has settled in. And no, we are not inviting other packs. We don't know why she ran away from her home, and until we figure that out, it's each and every one of your jobs to make her feel at home and protect her. If she gets hurt under any circumstances, be ready to answer to me. You can now start preparing; we'll introduce her at dinner."

With that, I walked away, not giving them a chance to say a word.
