The next morning, I headed over to where I kept Anthonia hidden from the payer. I unlocked the door and found her at the study table, glued to her laptop, the glow of the screen illuminating the dark circles under her eyes.
"Did you even get any sleep last night?" I asked when she noticed my presence.
"I can ask you the same thing," she answered without looking up. She was right—I didn't get any sleep. How could I, with the message the payer had sent me and the gnawing worry that we still hadn't found Laura?
"It's good you're here," Anthonia said, her voice laced with urgency. "I've been looking through the Reyes twins' files all night, and I found something I think you should see." She motioned for me to come over.
"I have something you need to see too, but you go first." I approached her desk, my eyes narrowing as I spotted a burner phone beside her laptop.
