Chapter 21 - The First One...

Karna's P.O.V,

I am Karna, the Child blessed with two mothers, Mata Ganga & Mata Radha who loves me dearly. I am also given with two caring fathers, PitaShri Adiratha and PitaShri Surya also known as Aditya. Along with a brother named Aarav-the little dove who loves to rest on my right shoulder, I have a complete family.

After the unfortunate incident, where I was abandoned by the Woman* who gave me birth, I have been living a great life full of smiles!

Everyday, I bask in the love of both of my mothers, while my father Surya observes me in the day.

At night, I was sheltered in the center of my parents' embrace, providing me with the safest and warmest place to sleep along with Aarav.

I was living a life desired by the celestials and mortals alike. And yet...

I was not happy...

Until Mata Ganga said those words, I wasn't aware of my own change.

Formerly a warrior, follower of Dharma, believer of Karma and an Archer, How can I forget my goal!

Her words made the bitter and hateful fragments of memories appear before me, influencing my previous negative emotions to resurface and haunt me!

For others, It might had only lasted for a few moments, but for me, I had re-lived through the unbearable torture again and again!

Despite knowing the truth of the world, I couldn't even control my own self!

Unbeknownst to me, My soul had already built a fragile wall to save me from that hell!

At that time, I heard two voices: Mata Ganga and Guruji (Maharishi Parshuram/ Teacher).

Mother's words cleared the awakened my will, WILL to defeat everything coming against me and move forward like a true warrior! Since, I have someone to protect and depend on!

On the other hand, my memories of being taught in the Ashram (The hermitage of Sages in Hinduism where Sage's taught their disciples).

Guruji (Teacher/ Sir) once said, "Before learning the world, you better find what is hidden inside you, firstly. Without knowing yourself, the greatest knowledge of the world is meaningless."

"Karna, always remember, As an Archer, the shameful thing isn't to miss your target. But, it is one's own inability to find the target. Those who forgets their goals do not deserve to be warriors, much less an Archer."

These words rang inside my head again and again, helping me regain the control of my emotions.

After bidding farewell to Mata Ganga, when Aarav and I were returning home, I sorted out my emotions and determined to first conquer my inner self before regaining my peak under the tutelage of my true teacher, this time, there will be no lie between us.

With these thoughts in my mind, we returned to my house illuminated by many Oil lamps made up of clay also known as Diya.

Under the medium bright moon, five days before full moon (Purnima) on the tenth of Shukla paksha (1st November) was the day I came into this world for the first time!

My house is made up of finely sliced rocks, pasted together by a special type of soil with no luxurious materials used in the process and yet, it is the most safe and beautiful place for m-! Uh no,

Right, there's also Aarav! It's the best place for us!

......

Prakriti's P.O.V,

Inside the humble abode of Adiratha, many people are present surrounding the stars of the night, Karna and Aarav.

(Note: They do not know about the date of birth of Aarav. Therefore in this situation, most villagers likes to celebrate their birthdays along with their other child whose date of birth is known to them, either elder or younger)

The house of the couple is filled with their friends, relatives and a little girl*.

When the elders are busy with their own matters, she swiftly passes through the walls of peoples nimbly before reaching beside Karna, silently like a cat.

Despite her effort, she was unable to deceive the senses of Aarav, who noticed her almost instantly as she appeared beside Karna.

However, instead of notifying Karna of the intruder, Aarav did nothing other than to rest on the shoulder of Karna.

He had learned from the lessons of the past to not say anything between the couples.

Aware that her little actions were noticed by Aarav and he didn't alerted Karna, She gave Aarav a cute smile before whispering sweetly beside the left ear of Karna "Happy Birthday Karna~"

Then, She added, "You Aarav~"

Karna wasn't surprised after hearing the sudden words, already accustomed with the girl's antics.

Even if not because of that, he couldn't be angry at this girl. He bet, no one can.

And, it was not because of her crystal clear black pupils reflecting his face clearly or her shoulder length open black hairs, swaying in the air with her every movement.

Neither it was because of her cute smile adorned on her pink lips or her baby face nor it was due to her fair skin covered by a red top and frock.

It was all regarding her pure feelings, bereft of any greed for his wealth or any attraction from his charm. Instead, her antics were filled with pure friendship, care and childishness.

She is...

Vrushali, the daughter of Adhiratha's friend, a Suta from birth like Karna and the future wife of Karna. Currently, Karna's best friend, shielding him from the countless fan-girls of Anga yearning for Karna.

From every place he passed through daily, his parents had to deal with the parents of the girls charmed by the appearance of their lovely child, regarding the future marriage of their children.

(Note: In Hinduism, The marriage of a child was arranged by their parents from their childhood. After both of them turned grown enough to take care of themselves i.e. 18+. The knots were tied.)

Fortunately, the couple refused them politely. If they accept even one proposal, they will have to marry their only child to the whole Anga. Otherwise, unless the father of their daughter-in-law is the current king of Hastinapur, They will have to face the wrath of the whole Anga!

Maybe the Lord has heard their pleas, as they sent their angel in the form of this little girl, Vrushali. After Vrushali entered the picture, no other girl of Anga had dared to linger her eyes at Karna.

No matter the caste or position, Karna was not pursued by any other calamity, causing the couple to shed some tears of Joy.
