At the Sanders'
Bam!
"I'm telling you", Lucia slammed the door behind her as she walked into a huge luxurious bedroom. "You know I don't like to cook but I whipped up a little something, it wasn't that special and the boy practically worshipped my feet. Saying Aunt you're the best, Aunt this is the best food I've ever hard, Aunt this food feels like home, Aunt I'm going to call you Mom from now on, Mom this, Mom that!"
She kicked off her heels and removed her coat before throwing herself on a plushy sofa. She adjusted her phone, moving it against her other ear and kicked up her legs on the sofa.
She wiggled her pantyhose covered toes and stretched them. All that standing in heels for over an hour ordering the kitchen staff to work took a toll on her feet and awakened her backache.
"I'm telling you! But you can't blame him. Already his mother passed away when he was only 15, he hasn't had any good meals since. And we can't count on food from Country F to be any good. Do you know this boy went as far as asking if he could marry Lisa?"
The door opened as soon as she uttered those words. She retracted her gaze full of deceit from the door and gave her back to the man walking in.
"Yes! You know she takes after me in many ways but I told him to wait, she's still young. Yes...." Approaching footsteps caught her attention. She looked at the approaching man who looked like he could strangle her with his gaze alone. "... In-laws? We're family already!"
"Lucia", Harold's voice was low and dangerous.
Lucia giggled into the phone. "You, what do you mean I'm indirectly the first lady? Stooop!"
"Lucia", Harold tried again, with barely restrained impatience.
"Hey, I'll fill you in on everything once we meet with everyone else.... Alright. Bye... Oh stop!" She laughed, her facing turning red from a blush before shw terminated the call. "Can you believe Vivian? She says she'll start calling me the first la-"
"What was that?" He interrupted.
"What are you talking about?" She blinked, confusion taking over her features. "Oh just now! I can't give a negative report after I bragged to my friends about tonight. I only stretched the truth a little!"
"Do you seriously think I care about that?!" He barked. "Tonight, at the dinner!! What was that about?"
"Can you say something that makes sense? I'm so tired from being in the kitchen, I don't have the energy for guess games", she snapped back.
"Lucia you... I asked you to do one thing. Cook us a meal and let us show support to Tom and Claude. I brought in Alex and his son to join in on a such a harmonious night but you... Why did you have to do something so useless?"
"Is that why you're so angry?" She asked, a little laid back. She didn't see the issue.
"Is that why I'm so angry? Is that why I'm so angry? Lucia you..... Ugh!" He raised his hand only to clench it into fist.
The door opened from behind them. "Dad, why are you so angry?" Lisa walked in, leaving the door open to reveal Sabrina who stood a few feet out. "What mom was proposing was not a bad idea, it was practically genius. What was the point of maintaining this friendship if not to get your kids married? Seriously, what's the issue?"
"Both mother and daughter..." Harold ground his teeth, too angry to properly express himself.
"Or are you hoping Claude marries Sabrina?" Lucia jumped up, anger spelling out on her face.
"Don't bring her into this nonsense of yours", he warned.
"Then why? Because I don't see why we're still keeping her around when she's of marriageable age. There are so many suitable bachelors", she pointed out, throwing a dirty gaze at the person in question.
"Yes Dad, there's so many choices for her. Mine is Claude only", Lisa crossed her arms against her chest obnoxiously. "If you oppose then that means what mom says is true and that's unfair! I can't yield to Sabrina!"
Harold looked from mother to daughter and shook his head, breathing deeply. "Useless..." He grumbled as he stormed out. "Completely useless... Sabrina, bring tea to my study!!"
Lisa waited for the pair to disappear before rushing to her mother. "Mom, I have to marry Claude."
"Don't worry, by now, everyone should know about your marriage. I made sure of it", she assured.
"Mom, you're the best!" Lisa hugged her mother with a huge smile.
"Of course, but the rest is up to you. You have to make him like you."
"I don't even need to do much. Look at how perfect I am, perfect boobs, perfect ass. I'll send whoever or whatever Claude is seeing running for the hills."
"You're my daughter after all, I trust you", she patted her cheek gently.
The sound of glass shuttering sent them jumping in their seats. Lucia held her chest at her beating heart. "This man", she glared in the direction of the door. There goes her chinaware or furniture ..
Why is he so angry? The two really did not know what it is that they did that infuriated the man like that. Harold was short tempered for no reason.
