"Ugh!" Cassie rolled her eyes, seeming to recall an annoying incident. "He texted me earlier saying he did something horrible to you tonight. But remembering what you said about ignoring him, I decided not to respond. I was going to call you to ask and now that I'm seeing, jeez!! What happened? Did you guys fight?" Cassie's tone reflected the worry in her eyes.
"Did that imbecile hit you?!" May snapped at the new revelation. "I swear to God I will snap that useless excuse of a man's neck dare I run into him!!! File for a restraining order after I rearrange his face!!"
"Are you okay boss?" Frankie pouted with a frown, she too expressing her worry.
"I know a good lawyer. Just say the word", Kendra added.
Kareena felt complexed at her friends' reactions. The coldness in her eyes melted and she uttered softly, "Nothing you're imagining happened tonight. Anyway, I'll take care of it."
"Is that why you're in a bad mood? You had to pick a fight with Miss Quinn", May tutted in disapproval. "I get what you were trying to do for us but it's okay. I believe I speak for everyone when I say we're used to this life, leaving our other job to accommodate the other. We did choose this ourselves as inconveniencing as it may be sometimes. It's all good."
The girls nodded to May's words. Kendra added, "And I'm sure Miss Quinn has a good reason for accepting this request."
"And I get to finally meet this hunk of a man just when I thought I missed my chance!! Ahh!!!" Cassie squealed excitedly!
"Makes two of us. That guy is hot!!" May fanned herself.
"You guys always exagger-", Kendra said, seeming distracted with her eyes cast downbefore before they widened in shock. "Whoa! I just googled him! He's real?!"
"I know!" Cassie barely caught herself, getting more excited.
"As for me, no one's hotter than my boyfriend", Frankie chirped in proudly earning 'boos' from the three. "Haters! And weren't you in Country F Cassie?"
"Right now, I'm being flown back", Cassie brought a glass of red wine into view and toasted it to the camera, showing she was enjoying every minute of it.
"That's your salary funding that ride", Frankie reminded.
"Don't I know it?" She replied bitterly before taking a sip of her wine.
"Damn", Kendra shook her head in pitty.
"So boss?" Frankie turned back to Kareena, reminding her of the decision she was yet to make. The four fell in silence waiting for her response. They had no clue what was going through the girl's head, but they still waited with baited breaths. Kareena took into consideration everything they said, but there was something else that pushed her to make her decision.
"You heard Miss Quinn, white House in an hour", she put them out of their misery. They all let out the breaths they were holding.
May patted her chest in attempt to calm her beating heart. "I swear I was going to book a funeral service for this friendship if you were going to come in between me and seeing that stud!"
"I was just about to dial", Kendra added showing her phone screen to the camera.
"Oh my god! K!" May shrieked in horror.
"What? I was just-"
"No, you-!"
"Stan and Stan funeral services, our dear customer, how may I help you?" A woman's serene voice resounded with a somber melody playing in the background.
"Oh my gosh!" The girls freaked out in unison.
Kareena terminated her connection amidst the chaos. She buried her face in her hands and let out a long tired sigh. Tonight, it was a lot. Her temples throbbed from a headache. Her gaze fell on the monitor to read the time, she now had 45 minutes to go.
The uneasy feeling only seemed to grow especially with Miss Quinn's actions. Fine, be the President's son's bodyguard she shall be she thought with resolve, getting uo from her seat to exit the room.
She would solve the case quickly and would be out of there in no time especially as they would be working as a team. The elevator doors shut close to take her back to her room floor, a look of determination reflecting in her eyes. How hard can it be? Seriously, what could possibly go wrong?
