The sound of birds only woke up the boy this time. Zio then looked around from his point of view, seeing the goddess extremely close to him, with her arms intertwined over his body, with nails dug on the other side. That night, he hadn't been attacked; they had just talked until he fell asleep from exhaustion.
"There she is, this time I'm fine. I don't even remember what we talked about last night..." Thought the boy as he slowly removed her arms from him. For a few quick seconds, she nestled even closer, not letting go. However, it was just a reflex of sleepiness; he managed to pull her away, sitting on the bed sideways. "My heart is racing; this kind of thing is so surreal. Why do I feel like she doesn't care about me? She's so affectionate... But I can't see her feeling anything."
He thought, a little confused, looking at his still extremely wounded hands. Before he could get up to start getting ready for the day, he was held down on the bed by a hug around his neck. "Where are you going so early?" said the still sleepy goddess, but very fast. Morrigan then swallowed hard and stared at her, propped up on him. "Well, I have a job now, and I also won a horse. I want to know if she's okay..." wiping her eyes, Goddess suddenly smiled curiously. "We won a horse? I want to see him!" she said, jumping out of bed and standing on top of him. "I'll get dressed and we'll go down..."
Said the goddess, heading towards a wardrobe that went a little into a wall compartment. Morrigan went to the bathroom slowly, seeing the silhouette of Goddess inside the compartment tossing everything up to get dressed quickly. "We won..." he thought, trying to justify that somehow in his head, but he gave up soon after.
After brushing his teeth and finishing his personal hygiene, he came out of the bathroom dressed in his training clothes, proud of himself. Now he was a symbol, and that feeling internally generated happiness for him.
"I didn't know this outfit... You're really into this now..." the goddess then came towards him and grabbed his hands, causing a painful expression on the boy's face, which made her frown, wondering what could be wrong. He then turned his face, knowing what would come next.
"What did you do to your hands, Zio?" she asked, extremely angry, while looking around, knowing there was a first aid kit somewhere. "On the first day, you're already doing these things?... What did we talk about finding yourself as the protagonist?..." Morrigan listened to that whole sermon, looking up, saddened. He tried to avoid letting her notice as much as possible, but at that moment, he was so relaxed that he forgot.
"There's a rival in the fields 4; he pushed me to the limit in training yesterday, and he intends to keep challenging me until he defeats me. He's a big guy..." Goddess then came out of the compartment with cheeks full, extremely angry. "Stay there; let's fix those hands..." she pushed him back onto the bed, making him sit, and then she sat on the floor below him, starting to apply ointments to his hands, checking if anything needed to be closed.
"So, did you beat him?" Morrigan suddenly lowered his head, saddened, with several droplets... "I almost did, but the instructor stopped the fight because I could get hurt even more..." Goddess then sighed deeply... "You're too much for my mind. I didn't think I would be reborn to take care of someone like you. I don't even know any magic or any power that could help you." mumbled the goddess as she bandaged Morrigan's hands, who watched her caringly, with the heart pounding.
Unconsciously, he slowly lowered his head until it touched hers, surprising her, while she bandaged his hands; he was still drowsy. As soon as she realized, she looked around, releasing air through her mouth with a somewhat confused expression. The truth was that the closeness with Morrigan was extremely precious to her; as a goddess, she hadn't felt anything mortal for millennia, and finally, she had someone who didn't force her into anything or give her orders. Even though she didn't consider Morrigan the man of her life, everything about him made her extremely comfortable.
Morrigan then woke up suddenly "Sorry..." he said calmly, while she blushed, sighing... "Okay, it's done..." she released his hands, leaving them on her legs, looking at them. Goddess was feeling a little useless; perhaps she wanted to participate more in that, maybe even have fun alongside Morrigan in adventures out there. That thought was slowly becoming a reality in her mind.
"How about if we had some time for ourselves?" Morrigan asked, making the goddess raise her eyebrow, what was that? Was he asking for a break? "What do you mean?" Gradually she processed that he was asking her to go out with him in the morning... It was a date.
The goddess's toes began to move between them, and she asked anxiously, "Now?" Morrigan finally woke up completely. "Yes, let's go out for breakfast today!" he said, getting up and putting his hand out to help her up from the floor. She then put her hand on his, and her heart raced. The goddess was completely won over by this Morrigan; her heart raced, something she hadn't felt in a long time, her angry face was completely swallowed by a pleasant expression as she got up with his help and politely responded, "Let's go..." in the silence of their palpitations.
Both got ready and descended the stairs chatting about what breakfast could be like. As soon as they arrived at the barn, Morrigan showed her horse to her. When the goddess found out who it was, she ran to hug her; it was a beautiful and young mare. Goddess liked animals a lot; as a goddess, she had great fondness for nature and simple things.
Both then mounted her, and trotting through the city, they arrived at a restaurant opening in the morning, where Morrigan left Hirosumi parked, asking them to give her food at that restaurant. It wasn't a very extravagant place; it was a wooden house with a shop inside, a glass case holding various homemade sweets in bread dough, with some complete cakes. There were still some tables being set up; it was very early in the morning, so they were just opening. There were some people waiting for fresh bread; that was the bakery Goddess had said was fantastic.
Sitting at the table, she insisted that they eat strawberry cake; apparently, it was something she wanted to try, at least 200 years ago. Zio didn't know what he would like to eat, so he ordered enough. He wasn't a glutton, but the goddess was quite hungry.
"Our house is bought, Goddess, and in this neighborhood... it's just a few minutes from here," he said as the food was served on white plates, all very beautiful. "Really?" she asked surprised, while he said, "I found a house that only needed a few renovations, with a very kind widower, he sold it to me, the contract is in my backpack, he asked me for 2 days to organize their move." The goddess then seemed to start eating, with a pleasant expression, looking like a completely different person. At that moment, she seemed like a girl enjoying a normal life.
"We'll have some renovations, but it will be just the three of us," she took a few seconds to think about who the third person would be; that caught her off guard for a few seconds, causing her to enter a quick crisis of fears. Without changing her expression too much, she tried to disguise it, but she quickly remembered Hirosumi, and her heart calmed down again. "He wouldn't do that," was her thought; all that flurry of thoughts bothered Goddess, gradually what she thought was a case was becoming a trouble in her stomach.
With all the conversations up to date, they went out again, passing by the house where they would live, and Goddess then said on the horse on the way home, Morrigan would soon go to work on the other side of the city. "I'm going to Master Delial's chapel; I'm going to ask about divine magic, maybe he can help me with something, and soon I'll be able to help you too, Zio..." Morrigan was caught off guard by that, but he was happy. "I'm glad you decided to enjoy your new life too, Goddess; maybe it would be better like this from the beginning. The two of us can go out and create random things... without caring too much..." It was exactly the answer the goddess was waiting for from Zio. As she was being left at home, she bid him farewell.
That day she didn't ask for hugs from Zio; it wasn't just any joke. For a few seconds, she even thought about asking, but she wanted to interact more with him so much that she had to restrain herself, so that she wouldn't lose control of herself. The goddess was enjoying all of it... Maybe Zio could be someone for her.
