A sensation of pain ran through Meer's body. He opened his eyes as the pain pierced his body.
He looked at the slightly hollow wooden roof, when he moved his body, he felt a soft and slightly itchy sensation. It was like lying on a pile of small thin objects like needles but in large quantity.
Meer grasped the object underneath his body and turned out the things he use as the bed was a pile of straw.
"Are you awake?" said a young man who approached him while carrying a bottle of potion.
His hair was dark red and stood up straight in all directions like porcupine quills. In contrast to his strikingly colored hair, his eyes were black, as black as the night sky.
"Drink up," said the red-haired young man as he handed Meer the potion bottle.
Meer tried to grab the bottle but he didn't have the energy to move beyond that.
The young man approached and helped Meer to drink the potion.
