The old wooden ceiling greeted Alice when she opened her eyes for the first time this morning.
She looked at the window and witnessed the sunlight coming in through the window vents followed by the sound of birds chirping.
Alice sat up and held her head as she exhaled heavily. She recalled her conversation with her mother last night and was once again confused and not sure about her own feelings.
The blonde-haired woman walked to the wardrobe to change her pajamas.
Alice came out of the room in her usual clothes, a long-sleeved tunic and long pants. She walked into the kitchen and found her mother carrying a tray with a glass of water, a plate of bread and a bowl of berries.
"What a coincidence, can you take this to your father, he's at the dojo," said Elsi who immediately handed the tray to Alice.
