Chapter 2 - 002. My Way or Death Way

"I think it's time to go to the elven forest, I need some of new clothes for the next two decades."

Zhen jumped down from the wall and walked away. With every step he took, he kept encountered with corpses and several crows and vultures began to feast on it.

"Defeating all of the demons troop and fighting the Demon lord, it is indeed very troublesome."

Zhen moved further away and slowly approached the dead forest area that had mostly lost its leaves and the trunks had dried up. Even on the way through the dead forest, he still found several demon corpses lying around.

It took at least nearly an hour's of walk to change the scenery to a slightly living forest.

"Perhaps I should shift my focus to finding an animal that can be used as a mount."

After a few minutes, the surrounding scenery turned into a green forest with shady and green trees. He could hear birds chirping and rather a strange noises from the bushes.

"Hmn... I happen to be hungry too."

Zhen raised his hands shoulder-length.

"Inventory check."

He took a look at the items on his inventory list, all neatly arranged from clothing and foodstuffs to light equipment.

"Hmn... Maybe just fry it."

While he was busy thinking, a large tiger jumped from the bushes. The tiger pounced on him, but only got empty air and got confused. It looked around and there was no sign of those silver-haired elf.

The tiger's ears then moved backwards, sensing the sound waves. The tiger lifted its head up and saw Zhen preparing to hit.

"Point shifter, 40% strength."

Zhen smashed the tiger's head into the ground and hollowed out the ground, creating a large crack around it.

The skull has been crush, tiger was no longer alive. Zhen moved his wrist and looked at the panel screen in front of him.

"Point shifter, default."

"For now, [Jack of all trades] is better for daily life and more balanced."

Zhen once again checked his inventory and pressed a few items. All the items he pressed suddenly appeared around him.

A large wooden table, a stove, 2 water barrels, cooking utensils, and cutlery, as well as several small metal tubes each with the words salt, soy sauce, hot sauce, garlic, shallots, lemon and a medium-sized metal tube with the words [ frying oil ] on it.

Zhen began to skin the tiger he had just killed. "Forget clothes, my spices are even more concerning. Especially for a carnivorous animal, it must be tasted a bit too strong for this kind of meat."

After cutting about 10 kg of tiger meat into small pieces, he put everything into a barrel of water.

He lit the magic stove by touching a circle with a flame symbol on it. The appearance of it almost have no different with portable gas stove he have in his previous world, the only different is it's fueled by mana.

Zhen channeled his mana and a 1-meter-high flame suddenly appeared.

"Oops, too much mana."

Zhen started pouring some cooking oil into the large wok followed by all the shallots and garlic he had. He turned down the heat and then took out the previous piece of meat and rubbed it with lemon juice and sprinkled a little salt on it.

"At least this might have some effect. I hope. Well, my cooking skill is indeed at the max, I hope it's work."

Zhen went back to the stove and sautéed the onions until they were browned and immediately added all the pieces of meat.

He continued to stir-fry, followed by adding soy sauce and sauce.

After a few minutes, he turned off the heat and transferred it to a plate.

"I hope it doesn't taste as bad as I imagined."

One spoon went into his mouth.

"Hmn... It's not as bad as I thought. Maybe I should open a restaurant."

As he ate heartily, a wolf approached the tiger carcass. The wolf stared ferociously but Zhen continued to eat. The wolf began to eat the carcass of the big tiger and the threatening aura of the wolf was no longer be felt.

After eating all the meat, he washed and tidied up his cutlery and cooking utensils.

"You haven't left yet?" Zhen looked at the wolf who just sat and watching him.

As Zhen got closer, he noticed that one of the wolf's front legs was injured. He move his hand towards the wolf but the wolf bit him instead.

"Dumb Dog!" Zhen smack the wolf's head and the wolf howls in pain.

"Basic recovery," Zhen said, treating the wolf's injured leg.

The wolf moved his leg then he spun around to test his newly healed leg.

When the wolf saw Zhen, that elf had already walked away.

"Why are you following me? Go away, I only helped you because I wanted to. I don't need a companion animal I can't ride on."

Zhen grumbled as the wolf walked behind him. After a while, the two made it out of the forest and saw a vast expanse of grassy land.

"The trip to the nearest town will probably be very time-consuming. Maybe months if i continued by this method. After all, they should have come to get me."

The wolf growled and revealed all his fangs. Zhen looked in the same direction as the wolf and saw a horse-drawn carriage approaching.

A very luxurious carriage with two horses pulling in front of it.

"Oi, wolf, be quiet, the guest I've been waiting for has arrived."

The carriage stopped a few meters away from Zhen.

"Now look what you did! Because of you, the horse is scared."

The Wolf bowed his head, feeling guilty. Meanwhile, someone got out of the carriage. A man who looked to be in his thirties with luxurious clothes.

"Yha..., how are you, noble lord? What took you so long?" Zhen shouted from a distance.

----------------------------------

Zhen and the nobleman swayed even though they were both sitting in the carriage. The two sat facing each other in a small but luxurious room. The nobleman looked sarcastically at Zhen who was reading a rather long piece of paper.

"Hmn... Yep, this is what I need. A residence permit and the right to conduct activities in any kingdom." Zhen said nonchalantly which irritated the nobleman even more.

"Take this, usurer." The nobleman handed over a small bag of gold coins.

"Ah yes, thank you. Actually, all I wanted was this."

Zhen took the bag of gold coins and continued reading.

"Wait a minute, the kingdom of Eleindal doesn't give their stamp." Zhen looked at the nobleman with great confusion.

"That's because they don't feel the need. They are confident enough in their current wealth and their military, without the need for the help of heroes from other worlds." The noble replied.

"Hmn, if that's their wish. There is no problem. But now that I'm worried, I might not need to go there for the next few decades."

"Why, are you afraid you won't be able to do anything without that paper?"

"No, the next Demon lord might be appear in their territory. And surely many demon-related problems will arise. And that's definitely will be pain in my back.

"Demon lord? In Eleindal? Hahahaha. You must be joking. What made you think of that?"

"Just intuition."

"Intuition? Hahahaha!"

The nobleman continued to laugh while Zhen just busy fiddling with his inventory screen.

"Can I borrow your carriage?"

The nobleman immediately stopped laughing.

"Huh?! Borrow? Who do you think you are?"

"Oh yeah, right." Zhen threw two gold coins at the nobleman which only make it even worst.

*WHUSH!

The roof of the carriage flew off and revealed Zhen who caught the nobleman's sword swing.

This elf just let out a long sigh.

"Look, just take the coin and let me borrow your carriage. I don't like long-winded bureaucracy."

The nobleman could not withdraw his sword, as if it was stuck in a giant mountain. Cold sweat slowly poured out as he stared into Zhen's eyes.

Unfazed. A piercing gaze that forced this noble to breathe heavily. In that moment the noble felt an immense killing aura enveloped him.

"I'll add one more coin, how about now?" asked Zhen, throwing another coin.

The nobleman reflexively release his hand from the sword and caught the gold coin. Zhen smiled.

"Thank you for your cooperation."

The nobleman dismounted from his own carriage while holding three gold of coins with trembling hands.

"I'll return them in a few days, don't worry." Zhen waved and sat back in his seat.
