Victor's dive took him deeper, temporarily distancing him from the sight of the Devourer of Ships. He knew he had to act fast if he wanted to kill this monster and get everyone out of this situation alive.
Victor wasn't an excellent swimmer, especially since it had been years since he had last done so, but he tried to move silently through the dark waters.
With his black sword in hand, he looked for the right angle for an attack. Suddenly, he was spotted by the giant red eye of the Devourer of Ships and the monster roared with rage at the sight of him, immediately commanding several of its tentacles to grab Victor. However, being seen was exactly what Victor wanted at that moment, because while he was hiding he had time to prepare an attack.
