Chapter 7 - Chaplin.

Claire P.O.V

After some hours, my plane landed in Japan, the first thing I did when I left the airport after the search process was to switch off my phone. I had the one I would use in Japan and nobody else could trace my actual location through that. I took a notepad by the side of my purse, where Lin's address was written.

I sighed and walked briskly towards the toilets, in the toilet with the door shut, I removed the gown, folded it neatly, and put it in my bag, my bag had a setting that could change it into a backpack.

So after removing my heels and replacing them with chunky black boots, I took out my sunshade and a pair of black gloves. After putting them on and turning my suitcase into a backpack I walked out of the toilet, looking and giving off a completely different vibe, cloaked in the aura of mystery strides I walked confidently towards the awaiting taxi. I gazed at the taxi driver for a while, chewing bubble gum and giving off an attitude, I showed him the notepad.

"I know the location ma'am."

He said in affirmation. I grinned and entered the vehicle, my demeanor remained composed, yet hinted at the depths of my enigmatic persona.

Havana, Cuba.

Lin's P.O.V

My days here have been a routine, nothing interesting, it seems my abductors haven't started to deal with my case yet.

My routine here is, to wake up every morning, and take a cold bath.

Miguel comes to call me out for breakfast, and after breakfast, I head back to the room, sometimes I'll read the boring books of history on the shelves of the room, and other times when I come across a pen or ink I did sketch or draw, most times I sleep.

When it's afternoon Miguel comes again, "It's time for lunch ma'am"

In Miguel's voice, after lunch, it's back to my room with him following me closely behind my back.

Then I sleep till late at night, either I take my bath before eating dinner or I'll take dinner before bathing. Most times at night I cry my eyes out other times I stand by the window of my room. Not like I could see any living things out there, it was just me and the stars. Yes, I have not been tortured yet, but this is suffocating and exhausting.

I sighed and lay on my bed. Staring at the ceiling wondering how long I was going to be in there, and how this constant loop was going to continue when I heard a knock.

"Mrs Lin" that was Miguel, he is the only living thing here apart from me, turning my head to glance at the clock.

"Isn't it too early for dinner Miguel?"

I asked,

I'm expecting him to come probably by 8:30 pm and this was just 6:00 .

"You have a visitor" he said, and I found myself bolting towards the door. "Did you say a visitor?"

I asked, there was excitement on my face, maybe one of my brothers is here to take me home, I thought.

"This way ma'am," he said gesturing me towards a room by the left end of the corridor".

I followed closely behind, wondering why the visitor would want to see me in a room because I thought that was what all the doors on the corridor signified.

But well my thoughts were wrong. As I entered the room, Mr Miguel, closed the door behind me, and I was left admiring the sitting room, it exudes opulence, adorned with rich mahogany furniture and plush leather upholstery.

Sunlight filters through heavy curtains, casting warm hues across the room. A large fireplace stands as the focal point, emanating a gentle glow. The scent of polished wood lingers in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of aged books, that's when I noticed, by the towering window, a masculine figure stands tall, silhouetted against the backdrop of the city skyline.

His demeanor exudes strength and contemplation as he gazes out into the world beyond, a solitary figure amidst the grandeur of the room. And he wasn't giving any of my brother's aura at all.

"You're done admiring the place?", the person asked, his voice resonating with confidence and charm, carrying a smooth, velvety tone that captivates attention effortlessly.

It's deep and resonant, with just a hint of a husky timbre, adding a touch of allure to every word spoken.

Each syllable is delivered with precision and authority, yet softened by a warmth that invites others to lean in and listen. I suddenly jerked my head a bit,

"what's wrong with me" I muttered to myself.

"Who are you?"

I asked quite confidently with a straight face. He then turned and looked in my direction, smirking he said

"Call me a Chaplin."

Moving towards a couch, he sat down and gestured for me to sit as well.

I was smitten by this gentleman's beauty, he possessed a disarming charm that lights up any room.

With a winsome smirk that could melt hearts and twinkling eyes brimming with mischief, they effortlessly capture the admiration of those around them.

His features are finely sculpted, with a perfect balance of rugged masculinity and gentle allure.

It's the kind of face that makes hearts flutter and knees weak, leaving admirers unable to resist the urge to gush over their undeniable appeal. I gently nudged myself to come back to reality.

"So is Chaplin your name, or a rank" I asked out of curiosity, playing with my fingers.

"Anyone, you want to go with," he said.

I suddenly felt the urge to ask

"So why are you here to see me, except if you're the one behind my kidnap" I said sternly.

"Well, let's say I was taking orders, I want nothing to do with you," he said calmly.

" So what do you want from my father, because that would be the only reason you would have me kidnapped "

I said feeling the pressure to strangle this beauty in front of me, but on second thought I decided to stay calm.

"Ah a smart one," he said with a smile

"Well... I can't say what we want", he said " But I can assure you, if your father cooperates, no harm would be done to you, and giving you're his favorite, I doubt much if he would hesitate." He added.

I gave a sigh, at least I'm certain about something, they are using me as bait.

"Well," he said standing up.

"You about to leave, I see," I said standing up as well.

"Yep, or do you need something" he asked giving me a questioning look.

"Yes. I do, if you don't mind getting me a canvas, and some paints, I'd die of boredom before I get released" I said giving off a sigh.

"I guess we both have one thing in common," he said smiling.

I gave a confusing look, but before I could say anything, he was out of the door already.

And Miguel was by the door.

"Visiting time is over Miss Lin,"

He said.

I exhaled and walked out of the door.

This is my life recently.
