Luca's P.O.V
I followed Mr Martins closely behind.
One could obviously get lost in such a huge courtyard, filled with different segments of cells.
He then got to a cell, and paused.
"That's odd.." he muttered loud enough for me to hear.
"What's odd?" I asked, coming to a halt, right behind him.
"He should be here.."
"Cell, 514A."he added, he wasn't looking all confused like I expected. Probably things like this happens.
"So if his not here, where would he be?" I asked, staying as calm as possible.
I've come so far, I can't mess this up.
"I need to check up with the Administrative Officer." He said, turning his back and heading back to his desk.
"Is it concerning Mr Noah?" I asked, walking fast enough to keep up with his pace.
"Yes, it concerning him."
"Hope you don't mind waiting?" He asked.
"I do mind, I'll like to see the Officer as well." I said bluntly.
He just looked at me and sigh.
"Sure, follow me"
"But we would be using the stairs." He said with a short laugh.
"Okay, that won't be a problem." I said smiling.
"Sure, right this way." He said leading me out of the arena, towards the stairs.
"There are no elevators?" I asked panting.
We have been going up for like twenty minutes now. I didn't want to complain but my legs were begining to ache real bad.
"There are sir, it's just that the headquarters have been experiencing some electricity related issues, using the elevators right now, is taking huge risk."
He said, smiling.
Seems they were already used to this.
"We're almost here sir, just a few more steps ahead."
He added, probably trying to encourage me to go on.
Besides he had told me earlier that we'd be using the stairs.
"What floor is the administrative officer's office located?" I asked.
"The seventh " He said, as though it wasn't that serious.
I stopped walking for a while.
"Is this dude out of his mind. Like what the f**k." I mumbled
He turned and looked back, giving out a short chuckle.
"We are here, Mr Guan, just a few more steps." He said.
And continued ascending.
I groaned...
"All this stress and Noah ends up guilty I'm going to punch him in the face." I mumbled.
After the strenuous, and breath taking motion up the stairs.
We got to the seventh floor corridor. And soon.
Mr Martins was knocking softly on the door.
I heard a gruff voice.
"Yes come on in."
Upon going in, there was the stern looking man, looking like someone in his fifties, way older than the administrative assistant.
Mr Martins saluted, and introduced me to him.
"Mr Luca Guan."
He said elegantly moving a bit to the side.
"Good day Sir" I greeted with a short bow.
"Good day Mr Luca."
He said, standing up and stretching his hands for a handshake.
After exchanging pleasantries, he motioned for me to sit.
Then Mr Martins excused himself and stepped out of the office.
"Well, Mr Luca, how many I be of help?" He asked.
Going straight to the point.
"Well, My assistant Mr Noah Marco, was arrested and brought to this unit. So I came here to sort things out."
I slowly felt myself sinking into the seat, this officer got an intimidating physique. But neither less I kept my cool.
"Hmm... Mr Noah here is the assistant?" He asked again, as though trying to be sure about something.
"Yes he is."
But the next thing he did, was amusing.
He let out a loud chuckle.
"I never knew the Guan's empire employs frauds and drug barons." He said, in mockery.
He wasn't as nice or cool as I expected. I was starting to see the meaness in him.
But also I was beyond shocked.
"Excuse me what?" I asked, hoping what he said was a mistake or something.
"You heard me, Mr Luca, the only reason why we would arrest anyone. Is because the person has dealings in crime."
He said it loud and clear enough for it to sink in.
I kept mute, for almost a minute. My dad definitely isn't involved in this.
Noah really did something.
"Is it possible to meet Mr Noah?"
I asked hoping, he would agree to it.
"Yes it is, but you have to fill some paperwork, besides you are the only visitor he had, since he was brought here."
He said, standing up and walking to a safe in the office.
" Any chances of a bail?" I asked quietly.
And he let out another laugh, from where he was.
I had never felt so ashamed.
"That won't be possible. As we speak he would be transfered to the states before midnight."
He said walking towards my desk with alot of papers.
"Ready to sign this?" He asked.
"Let's begin sir."
I said, picking up the pen.
Still shocked from the bomb shell dropped.
After spending close to forty minutes in the officer's office. We headed out, with me following closely behind.
"He was moved from the holding cell." I said, stating the obvious.
"Yes he was, so we could carry out series of test on him."
He said, without even glancing towards my direction.
My legs still hurt from the movement with Martins earlier, but I'm really glad we weren't using the stairs again.
After some minutes walk, down the corridor. We go to another door. After sliding his pass. The door was automatically unlocked.
After giving the door a small push. We were inside.
This room, was as big as the courtyard, earlier.
It's just that, this room was painted all white, and the air was a bit chilled. Probably from the air con in the place, which I couldn't see though.
And then there was alot of laboratory equipment on one side. And some rows of cells...
"Good day, Officer, Steve."
A lady, with a lab coat on, came walking briskly towards us.
"Good day, Officer Miriam." He greeted back.
And that's when I realized the lady I assumed was a lab scientist or something was also putting on the uniform underneath the lab coat.
"Mr Noah Marco?" He asked.
"Ahh, yes. We've concluded the test and are waiting on the results."she said, walking towards the cells.
Both I and the officer walked closely behind her.
As we move deeper into the courtyard. I realized there were other people putting on the lab coat, but none seemed to mind us.
"Here's Mr Noah."
Mr Steve voice, interrupted my thoughts.
I glanced at the cell.
There was Noah, sitted on a bench, wearing the usual grey overall.
His head was bent, and he was looking all innocent. I almost teared up from the sight of him.
He didn't seem to notice our presence until Officer Steve gave a slight knock on the iron bars.
He then raised his head, slowly.
His eyes were bloodshot, I couldn't tell if he had been crying or if it was the drugs.
I walked slowly and held the bars.
We locked eye contact for a while, and then he bow his head again.
"You shouldn't be here." He said, loud enough for me to hear.
I looked at the two officers by my side.
"Do you mind?" I asked them, calmly requesting for privacy.
The lady, smiled and turned around, probably heading back to her slab.
But Mr Steve stood still.
"He can be dangerous.." he said plainly.
Making it known, that he wasn't leaving the place.
I sighed, " He might be, but not to me."
Still, Mr Steve didn't move an inch, I sighed.
I might as well just let him stay.
"Noah, is it true?" I asked. Turning back to him.
Deep down, I was hoping he would say, no and that he is innocent.
"Yes it is.." his hoarse voice interrupting my thoughts. Making me freeze for a while.
His face was expressionless, and I couldn't tell anything.
"No, C'mon Noah you can't commit a crime like that.."
I said, finding it hard to believe a thing.
"You've heard me, I did all of that." He said, standing up and walking slowly towards the bars.
Mr Steve, alerted wanted to pull me back.
"But I held the bars tightly, my body language telling him to let me be.
He did, but now when was standing closer as well.
"You shouldn't think if anything stupid." He threatened Noah.
Who gave him a death stare and turned back to me.
"I've committed enough crimes" he said bluntly. With no emotions or remorse.
"Mr Luca, I'll advice you to stop stressing about me, and handle what's going on in your family at the moment."
He said, smiling wickedly as I recoiled upon hearing his words.
"You're wasting time by been here, the truth is in the goddam safe."
He said , with a shrug.
Walking back to the bench.
"If I go down, it would be good taking some down with me." He said laughing, sending chills to my body.
"What do you know!"
I yelled, grabbing the bars again, like I was going to pull it.
I could feel, Mr Steve strong hands around my arm, pulling me backwards.
"I know the truth!"
He yelled back, giving another sinister laugh.
