Chapter 31 - Toxic Tango 2

After Yuichi unexpectedly found himself in the magical world of Eldoria, he had none of the dominant positions that other anime protagonists had. Nor did the system that oversaw this new world provide him with any compensation. But just as death was approaching in a desperate situation deep within a dangerous dungeon, a mysterious white-haired girl stepped in and gave him an unexpected power package.

He was thus introduced to his newfound passive abilities. An extraordinary ability only possessed by the otherworldly.

The [Mystical Eye] passive ability bestows upon the individual a profound enhancement of perception and intuition. This unique skill grants the user various advantageous abilities, such as natural night vision, otherworldly vision, foresight, and heightened perceptive vision. As a consequence of possessing this ability, both of the user's eyes undergo a gradual transformation, acquiring a spectacular appearance, which may manifest as gem-like textured pupils or glowing attributes.

The [Constant Hybrid Regeneration] is a passive ability that facilitates the simultaneous healing of health, stamina, and mana without inherent limitations. Activation occurs automatically when the user remains undamaged for a specific period, triggering a rejuvenating process. However, to initiate this regeneration, the user must refrain from sustaining any damage for a five-minute duration. Failure to adhere to this condition renders the passive ability inactive, especially when disrupted during the waiting period.

The [Spatial Instinct] empowers users with heightened natural aptitude, providing an extraordinary perception that extends to detecting potential threats within a 100-meter range. This heightened awareness enables users to effortlessly evade incoming dangers, allowing them to leverage this advantage effectively.

The three passive abilities that Yuichi was given by the mysterious white-haired lady might not be able to compete with the immense power displayed by well-known characters like Sung Jinwoo from Solo Levelling. But these skills are essential to him staying consistent in a variety of circumstances, and they are particularly helpful in situations where he appears to be in danger of losing his life.

In terms of skill abilities, Yuichi currently has one listed in his status, which is the [Wind Gale]. This skill comes from the element of wind and is his starting ability, signifying the beginning of his adventure.

[Wind Gale] is a flexible wind-element ability that can be used in two different ways: infused and cast. When in its infused form, practitioners use the wind's power to enhance their weapons or their bare hands, giving them greater strength and speed when attacking. However, with the cast variation, the user can project a gust of wind in the direction of a predetermined target, effectively turning it into a scalable projectile attack that can be adjusted in size according to the user's strategic intent.

At the moment, Yuichi's main skill is only the [Wind Gale]. While there is still time for him to learn more skills in the realm of wind, the events that are transpiring require his immediate attention. As a result, he will not have much time to think about learning more wind-based skills.

Nevertheless, the battle between Yuichi and the Venomancer will continue.

Yuichi met the Venomancer's eyes, his expression resolute and unwavering. The Venomancer met the look with a look of intimidation in return. The tension in the air increased as the tangible situation became more and more suspenseful by the minute.

With its elaborate platinum staff aimed squarely at Yuichi, the Venomancer summoned a bright green magic circle that appeared before him, warning him clearly that an attack was imminent. The magic circle's ethereal glow grew stronger, signalling the impending release of a poisoned arrow. The poison-loaded projectile shot forward with an abrupt burst of speed, finding its target and striking Yuichi with bold precision. Yuichi got hit so hard that he sprawled against the wall and got covered in a dark green fluid that had a sinister appearance.

Yuichi escaped the venomous attack unscathed thanks to his protective ring, which was designed to neutralise any poison damage. However, the force of the impact left an indelible mark on his body, carving it into the wall and causing him to wince.

'Even though I'm immune to this poison magic, it still does physical damage to me. I need to be more careful.' Yuichi pondered as he realized about it.

It's true that Yuichi is temporarily immune to the poison magic used by the Venomancer to attack him thanks to the Seraphina's Ring he obtained after defeating the Shadow Wolf. But, as he expected, the attack will still cause physical damage because it has a strong impact when it hits, similar to being hit by a car.

Little rocks fall and clatter into the ground as he climbs out of the wall. He wiped out the fluid from his body and assumed a combative position.

The Venomancer stared at Yuichi, frozen in a statuesque stillness that signalled a brief pause before its next move. It raised its staff to the sky with methodical accuracy, driving it into the podium with a spooky clang that reverberated through the metal building. A strange silence descended upon the floor as several elaborate magic circles appeared. This manifestation alluded to a summoning magic of a completely different kind, a far cry from its usual attack of poison magic.

A number of complex magical circles rose up from the earth, progressively rising and merging to reveal an enchanted being. The thing manifested as a viscous, dark green humanoid with a menacing presence and a razor-sharp iron sword in its hand.

With the exception of the Venomancer's use of poison elemental magic, it was clear at this point that Venomancer and Necromancer are the same.

The dark green monster was menacing, and it moved quickly towards Yuichi, its sly movements hinting at its predatory intent. The creature lunged deadly-quick at Yuichi, both of its swords blazing. When one of the monsters swung its blade towards Yuichi's neck, he snapped consciousness. Yuichi skillfully dodged the oncoming blow with such speed and agility that he barely avoided the deadly onslaught of the other attacks.

With a calculated move, Yuichi drew farther away from the frightening dark green monster, setting himself up for a stronger counterattack. Taking advantage of the situation, Yuichi quickly ducked down and used his strength and wind magic to repel one of the monsters that was charging at him. He struck the dark green monster squarely in the abdomen, sending his right fist glowing a brilliant light green and causing an explosion that broke the creature into a million pieces.

An iron sword emerges from the wreckage as the dark green monster breaks into shards. Yuichi takes the opportunity and firmly grasps the sword. He uses his newly acquired strength to wield the iron sword, giving himself a small but vital advantage over the viscous, dark green monster.

"That bastard summoned many of them. I gotta clear them out first before I can attack that skull freak." Yuichi pondered deliberately and held the sword with his tight grip as he was prepared to slice those green monsters.

Swords drawn, Yuichi faced a barrage of green, gooey monsters charging towards him. He deftly deflected their sword strikes, displaying a deft combination of accuracy and defence. But in the confusion of the exchange, one of the monsters cut into Yuichi's neck. Yuichi dodged the deadly blow with such graceful agility that he actually turned the tables and quickly severed the offending monster's neck in retaliation. Relentlessly, he persisted, performing a ceaseless sworddance, blocking the onslaught of blows from the remaining green opponents.

The battle suddenly changes as Yuichi deftly dodges the green monsters' constant attacks. The Venomancer, seeing his chance, summons a poisoned arrow with lethal accuracy. The missile is headed straight for Yuichi, who sees it coming and tries to block it with his sword. But the poison arrow's force proves too great, and the blow breaks his once-sturdy blade. Even with the weapon broken, Yuichi is able to deflect the deadly arrow and escape its deadly embrace just in time.

Yuichi was taken aback and began to feel that danger was approaching. He had expected his sword to be brittle, the blade already showing a small crack. The Venomancer started calling forth a sophisticated, multi-layered magic circle as the tension increased. This complex arrangement suggested a deluge of poison arrows that would fly out the moment the circle's ethereal designs began to glow.

Driven by the unrelenting assault, Yuichi dodged the shell with such skill that he crashed into the unforgiving wall. The constant attack took the form of bullets driven into the building, eroding and softening the stone wall over time.

Yuichi seized a fleeting opportunity to confront the Venomancer, aligning his body for a calculated throw of the shattered sword. Utilizing both his strength and the force of the wind, he built the necessary momentum before hurling the broken weapon toward the Venomancer. The projectile sped swiftly, but upon striking the target, a magical shield manifested, enveloping the Venomancer. Consequently, the broken sword collided with the shield, shattering upon impact.

'That bastard has a shield, no wonder why it's just standing there in broad.'

The shocking realization that the Venomancer was shielded by a previously unidentified shield startled Yuichi. But now that he knew this, he was certain that he had all he needed to plan a move and take down the Venomancer soon.

Unrelenting in its attack, the Venomancer conjures up a plethora of elaborate magic circles in the dark sky. These sorcerous signs predict a hail of lethal poisoned arrows that will fall like rain. Quick to notice the danger, Yuichi looks up and starts running, determined to avoid the toxic shower of projectiles that is about to descend from above.

A barrage of poisoned arrows fell from the sky, signaling the start of the attack. Yuichi used his quick reflexes to his advantage and deftly sidestepped every deadly bullet. But in his rush to strike back, he almost missed the threat of a powerful green monster that was waiting just outside.

With a powerful fist, he quickly took out the green monster and cleared the area while slyly dodging the poison arrows that were flying all around him. He unleashed a final barrage of deadly blows on his opponents before grabbing the iron sword and leaping elegantly to safety. He moved toward the Venomancer, blade ready, prepared to strike with accuracy and devastating force.

With a great cry, Yuichi threw all his strength into a powerful swing. The sound of his sword striking the Venomancer's impenetrable shield reverberated. Not even a cleft showed on the strong barrier in spite of the enormous effort. To Yuichi's dismay, the shield's overwhelming strength proved to be too much to overcome. His sword shattered on impact, causing panic as he struggled to comprehend the seemingly unbreakable defense in front of him.

The Venomancer took advantage of the situation and used its platinum staff to strike Yuichi hard in the abdomen. He was launched into the air by the impact, and he hit the wall with a loud crash that scattered dust and other debris. Making the most of the circumstance, the Venomancer stabbed its staff deep into the earth, summoning a spell that for some reason strengthened and enhanced the already powerful green monsters, turning them into even more formidable beings.

Yuichi gritted his teeth in reaction to the pain, grimacing and coughing loudly. His annoyance increased when he saw the Venomancer casually casting a spell that enhanced the green monsters' already impressive strength. He got up slowly from the ground and used the back of his hand to wipe his mouth with a determined resolve. Now standing, he faced a swarm of terrifying green monsters, each wielding a razor-sharp sword.

Yuichi regarded them with apparent frustration, murmuring to himself as he did so. "I'm going to end this bull crap. It doesn't matter if you make your minions get stronger, I will kill you."

"I was the weakest when I was summoned here in this world with my friends. I was called the weakest when Kazuhira saw my pity status which I don't blame him. I was judged as the weakest when all of my classmates were proven to be stronger. I'm sick of getting called the weakest of all heroes when I'm not even a hero."

"I've always been sent flying into the air when I fight stronger enemies and often feel pain and agony. Just how strong do I have to get to fight these monsters to escape this life of constant ridicule?"

"The weakest will get overlooked by the strongest. When I was fighting these monsters, I realized, is it still not enough to make me stronger?"

Yuichi is deep in thought when all of a sudden a vivid memory of someone who had advised him comes back to him. This memory makes him even more irate and frustrated because the counsel he received did nothing but make him feel worse.

"I am weak? Let my friends take care of it? Judgemental hypocrite, you just shut up!" He continues to murmur.

"Take a pity out of me? Even my classmates looked down on me because I was weak! Just a bunch of hypocrites thought they could be so sympathetic because they were stronger..."

"One with overwhelming power can naturally be undefeated. The weak will get stomped by the strong. The weak can't do anything but tremble in fear and stand still. The weak will get looked down upon because they are weak, even if they are useful or considerate."

"The weak will remain weak if they don't do anything about it. That's why the weak will always end up getting betrayed by the strong because the strong never care about the weak but only themselves!"

"I'm tired of being weak! I'm tired of being gentle! I'm tired of being humble! So I must become stronger and prove to them I am not who they think they can bluster around. I may not think about it, but maybe fate destined me to be here in this hellish place to become stronger!"

"So that's why I will never give up. Because if I give up now, it's just a waste of my time! I will become stronger as long as I'm alive!"

"That's why I was here in the first place!!!"

With a final cry of defiance, Yuichi charged into the group of green monsters, hitting each one with a fist and killing them all one by one.

By calling upon a magical circle, the Venomancer shot a poisoned magic projectile toward Yuichi's location. Driven by a resolute will, Yuichi dodged the poisoned blast with ease, soaring high into the air. He drew closer, ready to take the Venomancer squarely in the face.

With purpose, he held out his right hand and pointed it in the direction of the Venomancer. With a concentrated movement, he began to cast a spell, getting ready to call upon the might of his wind skill to deal a severe blow to the Venomancer.

[Skill: Wind Gale]

With his hand outstretched, Yuichi unleashed the [Wind Gale], glaring at the Venomancer. But the powerful blow only struck the powerful shield encircling the Venomancer, barely making a dent. Relentlessly, Yuichi dropped quickly to land precisely on the podium. He moved forward without pausing to strike the shield with a strong blow from his right fist. When the strike met with the force of the wind and the manifestation of wind magic, there was a noticeable wave reaction.

Yuichi's senses were overwhelmed with desperation, and he grabbed the shield firmly with both hands. He was adamant about tearing it apart, and he used wind magic in addition to his own brute force. But his efforts caused the shield to react in an unexpected way. A low-level, menacing flash of electricity appeared, building to a high-voltage explosion that sliced through Yuichi's defenseless hands.

Yuichi winced in excruciating pain as the electric shock went through his veins, but he didn't give up. His lips released a ferocious cry that resounded with resolve as he mustered every last bit of strength to rip the formidable shield apart.

Yuichi winced in pain as he forcefully tore the shield apart, fingers clenched around its edges, determined to take it apart piece by piece.

Frightened, the Venomancer wildly swung its staff and struck Yuichi hard in the head, causing him to fall back, blood oozing from the wound. Yuichi remained unfazed and stuck to the shield, determined to break it apart.

"I'm going to kill you!!!" Yuichi screamed in determination.

Yuichi continued to apply force to the shield with unwavering determination, causing it to gradually crumble until it broke. The broken pieces released charged particles, which caused the surrounding air to become charged. Recognizing his chance, Yuichi moved quickly to take aim at the Venomancer, sending his skeletal frame cracking with a barrage of strong bare-handed blows.

After Yuichi launched a barrage of blows, the Venomancer gave way under the force and let go of its staff. Taking advantage of the situation, Yuichi grabbed the falling weapon and struck the Venomancer with all of his strength.

"Die, you piece of crap!!!" Yuichi screamed and swung at the staff, impaling the Venomancer through its abdomen.

He pushed the staff deep into the Venomancer's belly, slicing through its skeletal frame until it came out of its head with a force that was truly terrifying. With a quick motion of his staff, he impaled the Venomancer again, driving it deep into the earth this time, dealing a devastating final blow.

When the Venomancer broke into a thousand skeleton pieces on the podium, the bright green golems all over the place glowed brightly before exploding into small explosions and leaving their dead host behind. With this drawn-out resolution, Yuichi's victory over the Venomancer was assured.
