Two hours have passed since the heated conversation between Kazuhira and Mitsuki.
Yuichi and his classmates were standing still in front of giant doors that seemed so intimidating just by looking at it in a glimpse. His classmates were merely prepared for this as they are already geared up with some good equipment on their own.
Along with them, Yuichi was in front of his classmates and was speculating about the giant doors in front of them with his intrigue expression.
'So this is the door leading to a dungeon. It's so huge and intimidating that I could even feel shivers in my skin just looking at it on the outside. I've heard that there are monsters everywhere in the dungeon and it consists of floors that lead to different places and more monsters.' Yuichi thought to himself.
'Sir Alistair said that we'll get our first trial inside of this dungeon, so I guess we'll fight some real monsters that are lurking within the shadow while also focusing on leveling up. This is basically just like a videogame, a fantasy.'
While he was deep in thought, admiring the details, a young woman with long black hair and azure eyes came and approached him on his back.
"I'm sorry that I couldn't justify myself back there, Yuichi-kun. I tried to convince them that he's not fit to become the captain because of his arrogance." Mitsuki said melancholy.
Yuichi genuinely admires Mitsuki's persistence and consideration even though she wasn't recognized or selected to be the captain. Although, seeing her downcast makes him also feel genuinely bad as a closest friend.
"You don't need to worry about it, Mitsuki-san. Let's just move on and focus on ourselves." Yuichi was positive and patted her shoulder.
Mitsuki heard his genuine words and nodded as she smiled at him. And then, a young man with glasses slowly walked towards them while fixing his appearance.
"I'd still think that you're better than Kazuhira, Hoshizaki-san." Kenji commented.
"Thank you for your supporting words, Hirabayashi-kun. It means a lot to me." Mitsuki replied with appreciation.
"Where have you been? Are you still thinking about your status?" Yuichi brought up a topic that Kenji would not like to mention.
"I'd rather brag about my accomplishment at school than this joke." Kenji whined, rolling his eyes.
Amidst their interaction, a tall man wearing iron armor walks into their front, facing them with his firm look and formality. Behind him are the giant doors that lead into the famous and well known places for adventures to thrive, dungeons.
"Alright, summoned heroes from another world." He said to them. "We're gathered here to take your first step as heroes of all Eldoria in these giant doors where darkness lurks within the danger. I have been informed that most of the floors in this dungeon have been cleared by the professional adventurers four days ago and said that they mostly killed any higher level monsters than level 5."
"To gain experience and level up, you need to slay and get them for yourselves. You don't need to be worried about threats that will possibly end your lives because I will provide you all with the protection of my own hands." He continued.
"So if you're already geared up with the provided equipment you need, let's not waste any moment and let's go with the flow." Alistair then turned around, facing the giant doors in front of him.
During this time, a young blonde man steps in and faces the students.
"What are you waiting for? You heard him, get yourself a nice bump and we're going inside." Kazuhira said and abruptly turned around, facing the giant doors too.
Although with hesitation, the students reluctantly agreed to go inside of the dungeon. Following Kazuhira and their supervisor, they entered the dungeon momentarily with their curious and anxious face.
Within the depths of the dungeon, they shall encounter outcomes of varying shades: moments of fortune, whispers of adversity, and the echoes of dire challenges.
...
A moment where Yuichi and his classmates reluctantly entered the dungeon.
In the realm of fantasy world, a dungeon is a subterranean labyrinth or complex, brimming with mystery and danger. These intricate mazes are often teeming with treacherous creatures, cunning traps, and hidden treasures.
Adventurers navigate through dimly lit corridors, secret chambers, and vast halls, driven by the promise of valuable loot and the pursuit of epic quests. Dungeons are a quintessential element of fantasy world, serving as both a proving ground for heroes and a canvas for rich storytelling.
As they looked around, gazing into the details of the dungeon, it was just a plain stone cave wall and a little cyan luminance that is like moss.
Yuichi was rather intrigued and looked around. It was completely calm and quieter than he anticipated. Although, he did expect a huge monster with big claws and teeth to emerge from the cavern and wipe them all out.
'This is the interior of a dungeon, it's empty and dark. Sir Alistair said that some adventurers have cleared this dungeon for the most part and seeing no monsters like slime or evil rabbit creatures must have been exhausting to slay for them.' Yuichi thought to himself.
'I wonder how much EXP those monsters would give you. Slime is expected to be at least 5 EXP depending on their levels and their appearances as they are diverse. I don't know if evil rabbit creatures exist, but if they do, maybe like 20 EXP for each. In that way, we could potentially level up faster.'
'I don't know much about how EXP works here, but eventually we will know how it works. Focusing on grinding and leveling up is probably the best choice for now.'
When Yuichi was in deep thought, he remembered something and grabbed his sword out of its sheath in his waist, inspecting the sword.
[Dull Sword - Durability [23/50]
[A plain two edge iron sword with dull blade. Nothing special, just a plain regular sword.]
'Wow, even the System gives you a description about certain objects. It's very helpful to see that certain objects also have a durability meter. This sword was already used in battle before.' Yuichi speculate.
'Not just that, but also you can analyze nature and other things. It's like an encyclopedia with limited knowledge like those things called Pokedex in the Pokemon series, except that we can entirely summon a huge screen in front of you.'
'But if the System can be only accessed by otherworldly people, then why are people in this world aware of this power? Perhaps they also have a System but like on a device or a card? Well, those things actually existed on some isekai anime series, I just don't know if they do exist here.'
While Yuichi was in a state of cogitation, something had bumped against his right arm. It was a girl with long black hair and azure eyes that was holding him on his right arm with her chest.
Yuichi could feel a soft sensation on his arm and a smell of fragrance. When he looked at her, a small blue screen popped up on his eyes.
[Mitsuki Hoshizaki♀]
[Mood - Apprehension]
Yuichi was baffled by the sudden information the system gave him and he glanced up, scratching his head.
'People's emotions are no exceptions, huh...' He thought to himself. 'This system can give you personal information too.'
'Well, I know Mitsuki very well since we have been friends ever since we were kids. I can always know if she's shy or cheerful, but giving you accurate information about their mood is just like I'm a stalker. It's kinda unsettling considering it's out of privacy.'
While they were walking cautiously, Kenji who was following them on the back noticed a rustle up in the dungeon floor. When he speculates further with his eyes, eight red eyes blink and then it moves.
Kenji was surprised, seeing a mysterious creature for the first time in the dungeon shock him. The creature then launched itself with its bunch of legs, propelling into Kenji's face as it was about to attack with its sharp two fangs.
"AH!" Kenji was startled as he instinctively tried to block it with his both hands.
Luckily, Kenji was able to hold the creature and he didn't dare to open his eyes.
Yuichi heard his distressed voice and he turned around, seeing Kenji holding an eight leg creature with his terrified face. Letting go of Mitsuki while she was holding his arm, he grabbed his dull sword from its sheath and sliced up the creature in half, spilling green blood on the ground.
Hearing the slash, Kenji gradually opens his both eyes and sees the creature split in half, momentarily letting it go as it splats on the ground.
"Are you okay, Kenji?" Yuichi cleaned off some remaining blood from his sword.
"Y-Yeah, I am alright. Thank you, Yuichi-kun." Kenji sighs and fixes his glasses.
[You have slain 1 Dungeon Spider]
[You have earned Solo EXP 12]
[EXP Progression [12/100]
'That was my first kill, a Dungeon Spider. It only gave me 12 EXP which is a lot for a beginner. If I can kill more than 10 Dungeon Spiders, I can level up to 2.' Yuichi analyzed the information he recently learned.
[Discovery: [Dungeon Spider] an eight legged creature that is lurking around the shadow of the cavern. They are known for their sharp fangs and red multiple eyes.]
