Mary inquired with curiosity, "Why were you asking about Peter?" she questioned as they were approaching inside the campus.
It was 11 AM in the morning and Brenda had just arrived at the university. After exchanging warm greetings, they began walking inside.
"I heard that Peter knows one of the professors," Brenda said confidently.
Mary's possessiveness could be heard in her voice as she asked, "You heard!!? Does that mean you've been in touch with someone else on campus besides me?"
Brenda tried to downplay it and replied, "No, I meant who else would I talk to? Besides, I was just researching about the professors and came across Peter's name."
She quickly made up a story to cover up her true intentions.
Mary immediately asked to see the tag, wanting to know which student it was referring to.
Thinking on her feet, Brenda responded, "There wasn't any picture attached, just a tag."
