Chapter 20 - SECRETS UNVEILED

Meanwhile, Xin Yue floated in the hazy realm between wakefulness and dreams, her senses alive with the pleasure that Chang Yi's touch evoked. Her body responded eagerly, aching for more of Chang Yi's intoxicating caresses, her pleas mingling with the morning air. Chang Yi, spurred on by Xin Yue's passionate response, eagerly complied, showering her lips with fervent kisses as Xin Yue's hands pulled her closer.

Their breaths mingled as they reluctantly broke apart, gazes locked in a silent exchange of longing and desire. With a playful glint in her eyes, Chang Yi's fingers trailed teasingly over Xin Yue's clothed warmth, coaxing forth needy whimpers of arousal. Xin Yue's hands reached out, urging Chang Yi closer, their connection growing deeper with each tantalizing touch.

As Xin Yue's pleas grew more urgent, Chang Yi responded eagerly, slipping her fingers inside her lover's warmth and skillfully stimulating her clitoris. Their shared moans echoed in the morning stillness, harmonizing with the gentle rise of the sun behind them, casting a warm glow over their entwined bodies.

After a few moments of shared ecstasy, they reluctantly parted, rising from the bed with Xin Yue nestled in Chang Yi's lap. With a sense of contentment lingering in the air, they indulged in a leisurely breakfast together, savoring each moment before embarking on their planned trip.

After breakfast, Chang Yi and Xin Yue busied themselves with final preparations for their trip to the lantern festival in Tainan. Chang Yi packed their essentials while Xin Yue arranged transportation and confirmed their accommodations.

As they got ready, the anticipation of the day's adventure filled the air, heightening their excitement. Xin Yue hummed a cheerful tune while Chang Yi moved with a sense of purpose, her mind still lingering on their intimate moments from earlier.

Once everything was in order, they made their way to the door, hand in hand, ready to embark on their journey. The sun had fully risen now, casting a warm glow over the city as they stepped outside into the bustling streets.

Their destination awaited, promising a day filled with vibrant lanterns, cultural festivities, and shared experiences. With each step they took, their bond grew stronger, their hearts intertwined in anticipation of the adventures that lay ahead.

Before heading to Tainan, Chang Yi drove her car to her apartment nestled within Ruohe Market, one of Taipei's liveliest markets. Xin Yue was taken aback by her lover's choice of residence. "This is where you live?" she exclaimed. Chang Yi grinned at Xin Yue's reaction. After parking her car, Chang Yi took Xin Yue's hand and guided her through the bustling market. "Stay close to me, or you might get lost in the crowd," she warned.

Curious, Xin Yue asked, "Why did you choose to live here? Isn't your salary enough to afford a better place?" Chang Yi explained, "I chose this area because of my father. With this many people around, it's hard for them to find me, let alone follow me."

As they navigated through the market, Chang Yi greeted one of the vendors. "Hi, Da Ge, how are you?" she asked. The vendor chuckled and teased, "Hey, it's been a while. Busy with your new lady?" Chang Yi chuckled and replied, "Just busy with work. See you later, Da Ge." Turning to Xin Yue, Chang Yi explained, "Here, I know some people who can help me disappear or cover my tracks." She led Xin Yue through the maze of stalls, weaving through the colorful displays and vibrant atmosphere of the market.

After navigating through the labyrinthine market maze, they arrived at a nondescript building tucked away in a corner. Climbing up a narrow staircase, Chang Yi led Xin Yue through a series of twists and turns until they reached a green door amidst a row of over twenty others on the floor. Inserting a key into the lock, Chang Yi opened the door, revealing another door fitted with a keypad lock, which appeared sturdier than the first.

Entering the access code, Chang Yi swung open the second door, and Xin Yue's eyes widened at the sight of her lover's apartment. It was far from what she expected to find inside a market building. The interior was sleek and modern, equipped with top-notch technology and completely soundproofed from the bustling activity of the market outside. Although Chang Yi couldn't change the view, the absence of external noise made the space feel harmonious with its contemporary furnishings.

"Just make yourself at home. I'll be ready in a moment," Chang Yi said, gesturing for Xin Yue to explore the living room as she went off to pack. Left alone, Xin Yue marveled at Chang Yi's impeccable taste in decor, taking in every detail of her carefully chosen fixtures and furnishings.

As Xin Yue's fingers traced over Chang Yi's meticulously chosen fixtures, she couldn't help but marvel at her lover's taste for the finest and most efficient technology. "For someone who denies her wealth, you certainly have expensive tastes," she muttered to herself with a wistful smile.

Her eyes then fell upon the live CCTV cameras strategically placed throughout the market. It dawned on her that these were positioned at entrances, allowing Chang Yi to monitor if anyone was tailing her. In that moment, a pang of sadness washed over Xin Yue as she realized the reality of Chang Yi's life on the run. Despite the sleekness of the apartment, it served as a temporary sanctuary, a place Chang Yi would have to abandon at a moment's notice if danger approached. The thought sent a shiver down Xin Yue's spine, stirring a sense of unease within her as she contemplated the fragility of their relationship and the possibility of being left behind, much like Wei Han had been.

Observing Xin Yue's solemn expression as she stood before the CCTV monitors, Chang Yi wrapped her arms around her from behind and planted a tender kiss on her forehead. "What's troubling my Yue Er?" she inquired softly.

Turning to face her lover, Xin Yue returned the kiss gently before shaking her head. "Nothing to worry about, just don't leave me stranded in the market. You know I can easily get lost," she reassured Chang Yi. "Are we ready to go now?"

Chang Yi nodded, holding her close for a moment longer before releasing her. "Let's go," she agreed, grabbing her backpack and intertwining her fingers with Xin Yue's as she led the way out of the apartment.
