Xin Yue smiled as Chang Yi grabbed her arm, excitement evident in her eyes. "I can't wait to show you the view from my penthouse," she said, leading Chang Yi towards the elevator.
Chang Yi looked around in awe as they rode up to the top floor of the office building. "I never knew you had a penthouse here," she said, her curiosity piqued.
Xin Yue chuckled. "I like to keep some things to myself," she replied cryptically.
As they stepped out of the elevator and into the luxurious penthouse, Chang Yi gasped at the stunning view of the city skyline. "This is incredible," she breathed, walking over to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Xin Yue joined her, leaning against the window frame. "I come up here whenever I need some peace and quiet," she said. "It's my little sanctuary in the midst of the chaos."
Chang Yi turned to her, a smile playing on her lips. "I can see why," she said. "It's like a whole other world up here."
They spent the afternoon chatting and laughing, getting to know each other better. Chang Yi learned that Xin Yue was a successful business executive who had worked hard to get to where she was. Xin Yue, in turn, discovered that Chang Yi was a free spirit who loved to travel and explore new places.
"I've always wanted to go on an adventure," Chang Yi said wistfully. "To see the world and experience different cultures."
Xin Yue's eyes lit up. "Why don't we go on an adventure together?" she suggested. "I have a private jet at my disposal, we could go anywhere you want."
Chang Yi's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you serious?" she asked, unable to believe her luck.
Xin Yue nodded, a mischievous glint in her eye. "I'm always up for a new adventure," she said. "And I have a feeling you are too."
Chang Yi grinned, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of exploring the world with Xin Yue by her side. "I'm in," she said decisively. "Let's make some unforgettable memories together."
As Xin Yue watched Chang Yi gaze out the window, her mind raced with thoughts of how she could get to know her better. She had always been a private person, keeping her emotions and personal life hidden from those around her. But there was something about Chang Yi that intrigued her, something that made her want to peel back the layers and discover what lay beneath.
As she looked at Chang Yi's profile, illuminated by the soft light of the city below, Xin Yue couldn't help but remember the day she had first met her. It had been a few months ago, when a friend of a friend had recommended Chang Yi for the assistant position that had been vacant for so long. Xin Yue had been hesitant at first, unsure of how someone so talented could be content with being just an assistant. But as soon as Chang Yi had walked into her office, all doubts had vanished.
Chang Yi was a vision of grace and poise, her velvet voice calming Xin Yue's nerves and setting her at ease. From that moment on, Xin Yue knew that she had made the right decision in hiring her. Chang Yi was a quick learner, anticipating Xin Yue's needs before she even had to ask. She was efficient, organized, and always one step ahead. Xin Yue had never realized how much she needed someone like Chang Yi in her life until she had arrived.
But now, as she sat in her penthouse with Chang Yi by her side, Xin Yue couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to know more about her. She had always been so focused on her work, on being the best at what she did, that she had never taken the time to truly get to know the people around her. But Chang Yi was different. There was a connection between them, a spark that Xin Yue couldn't ignore.
Lost in her thoughts, Xin Yue barely noticed when Chang Yi turned to face her, a small smile playing on her lips. "Is everything alright, Xin Yue?" Chang Yi asked, her voice gentle and reassuring.
Xin Yue blinked, snapping out of her reverie. "Yes, everything is fine," she replied quickly, trying to hide the flush that crept up her cheeks. "I was just... thinking."
Chang Yi raised an eyebrow, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "About what, may I ask?"
Xin Yue hesitated, unsure of how to voice the thoughts that had been swirling in her mind. But something in Chang Yi's gaze urged her on, encouraged her to speak her truth. "I was thinking about you," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Chang Yi's smile widened, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Me? What about me?"
Xin Yue took a deep breath, gathering her courage. "I want to know more about you, Chang Yi. I want to know what makes you tick, what drives you, what your dreams and aspirations are. I want to know the person behind the perfect assistant."
Chang Yi's expression softened, a look of understanding crossing her features. "I would be happy to share more about myself with you, Xin Yue. But first, I have a question for you."
Xin Yue's heart skipped a beat, anticipation building in her chest. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Chang Yi reached out and took Xin Yue's hand in hers, her touch sending a jolt of electricity through Xin Yue's body. "Why do you want to know more about me, Xin Yue? What is it that draws you to me?"
Xin Yue met Chang Yi's gaze, her eyes searching for the answers she couldn't quite articulate. "I... I don't know," she confessed, her voice tinged with vulnerability. "There's just something about you, something that makes me want to know more. I can't explain it."
Chang Yi's smile was gentle, understanding. "That's okay, Xin Yue. Sometimes, we are drawn to people for reasons we can't quite understand. But I believe that everything happens for a reason, that we are brought together for a purpose."
Xin Yue felt a weight lift off her shoulders, a sense of relief flooding through her. "I believe that too," she whispered, her eyes locked with Chang Yi's. "I believe that you were meant to be in my life, that you were meant to help me see things in a different light."
Chang Yi squeezed Xin Yue's hand, a silent reassurance passing between them. "I am here for you, Xin Yue. I am here to support you, to guide you, to be whatever you need me to be. And I hope that in time, you will come to see me not just as your assistant, but someone more.
Tears pricked at the corners of Xin Yue's eyes, a wave of emotion crashing over her. In that moment, she knew that her life would never be the same again. With Chang Yi by her side, she felt a sense of peace and belonging that she had never experienced before.
While their hands intertwined, Xin Yue knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together. And she couldn't wait to see where it would lead.
