I stand at the same place where Leo and others were kidnapped from. The forest looked a lot brighter than before and the morning sun was hanging on top of us.
Leo and others were still asleep inside the house, so the old woman helped me, carry them.
And now, me and the old lady were standing in front of the carriage looking at each other for nothing.
"Thank you young lady for the help. Now I can live, peacefully"
I give the old lady a humble smile, "no need to thank me, it is my duty and you also helped me to gain information."
Somehow the old lady was starting to get transparent and bits and parts of sprinkle were coming out of her body.
"Uhh, may I ask what is happening to you?"
The old lady looks over to her body and gives me a smile of reassurance. "Nothing I am just getting freedom."
I widen my eyes after hearing her reply, "are you saying that because I broke the crystal your body is cremating?"
"Something like that, don't worry about me though, I have lived long enough. You should worry about those two instead."
The old lady points her finger in front of the carriage, where the two carriage guards were awake from their sleep and now they were having a panic attack.
I give a sigh and look at the old woman, "I've got a lot of explaining to do it seems, but it was nice meeting you."
"You too, young lady." The old lady's soul vanishes in thin air, and leaves a blank space in there. I stare at the blank space for quite a while.
Then I start walking towards the guards, "what are you both doing?"
The guards finch and greets me immediately,
"Duchess sorry about the inconvenience, but it seems like we were sleeping even though we were not. And our memories seem hazy."
I let out a wicked smile and the guards shiver in fear, "I am going to forgive you this time for sleeping but next time I am going to inform it to the Duke, so you better start moving now."
"Yes duchess!" They both reply in unison.
I climb inside the carriage and close the door as the carriage starts moving.
(Maybe I over did it with them.)
My eyes fall on top of the sleeping man, and my mouth curls up in a mischievous smile.
(Look at him sleeping so peacefully, while I had to go through a whole mario adventure. Man I'm so jealous.)
I shift my head towards the window, and lean my head on the window's side wall. A glimpse of the past events flicking inside my head.
(That was really tiring.)
My eyes close as I drift to eternal slumber.
...
I wake up by the sudden shake of the carriage.
(Ugh, how long was I asleep for?)
I open my eyes, trying to adjust it with the light as I hear a yawn from the opposite side.
(Did Leo also wake up now?)
I look at Leo, who was looking at me confusingly.
(He looks like a newborn child with that face, how cute )
I smile as Leo scratches his head, "Scarlet, where are the robbers?"
(Definitely cute... Wait what!?)
I slap both of my cheeks to bring myself back from my wild imagination, I let out a cough to clear my voice, birds chirping could be heard from the outside as we cross a bridge which has nothing to do with me.
"What robbers? You were asleep this whole time."
Leo's eyes wander off to here and there, and finally stops on his book, he picks it up quickly and covers his face with it.
"Ok..." Leo speaks in a low tone, close to a whisper
(Seriously, not even a thank you-)
My eyes get stuck on the red tinted ear, that the man Infront of me had, and I couldn't help but shift my head away in order to laugh.
(He is embarrassed.. how cute.)
The carriage comes out of the forest and the view shifts to a large empire. We pass through the small markets and shops situated beside the grand road.
My eyes observing each and every individual, as I match the scenario with the novel that I read.
(This scene looks mesmerising. I really love this empire if I am being honest.)
After a short while, our carriage passes through a giant gate. There were many mansions inside, but the carriage stops Infront of the huge castle instead.
(It looks like I am here to visit Disneyland with my partner.)
Suddenly someone opens the carriage door, and my attention shifts there instead.
"Duke and Duchess we have arrived to the imperial palace." Oldy speaks, his voice sounding rather hoarse, as Clara wobbles beside him .
(They just woke up from their sleep, didn't they.)
We both get down from the carriage, as a royal guard comes down quickly to escort us inside the castle.
Leo looked unfazed by the atmosphere, while I couldn't help but feel excited about it.
(AHH never have I ever thought of being escorted like this somewhere, on top of that a mere hacker like me is now a duchess, wait shouldn't I be a princess?)
I try to control my emotions but my face was not cooperative with me. Leo's cold eyes fall on top of my face, as I look at him nervously.
"You look quite happy, did you miss you're family that much?" Leo asks in a cold tone.
"Haha yeah, I love them really."
Leo doesn't reply as we keep walking forward. The hallway of the castle was much wider than the duke mansion, after walking for an eternity we reach Infront of the main gate.
The guards situated beside the gate, opens it with a loud bang, as a loud voice rings inside the room.
"Duke Leo Von Louis and Duchess Scarlet Rose have arrived at the Imperial palace."
We walk towards the high chair, where my father was supposed to be sitting, and greet him with a bow.
(Aren't I suppose to be the princess?)
I look up to the chair, and see a bald old man sitting on the king's throne, brushing his beard.
"Our prince consort is finally here." The bald man says in a catchy tone as the whole room goes silent.
My brain processing what he just said, and then realising something.
(Wait, he isn't the king!)
