As she ventured closer to the bathroom, the air around her seemed to be charged with electricity, her body tingling with tension. The name 'Enzo' echoed off her lips, each syllable a question, a plea.
She listened, straining her ears for any sound, any sign that her fears were unfounded. And then, like the light at the end of a dark tunnel, Enzo's voice broke through the silence.
"Is that you, Aubrey?" he called, his words rolling through the door, washing away her concerns like a tidal wave.
Aubrey's shoulders relaxed, her posture visibly changing as her suspicion melted away. "Yes! It's me. I was looking for you, but I didn't see you in the room, so I thought you had stepped out."
Enzo's laughter rang out from behind the door, his tone warm and inviting. "No, I decided to take a quick bath," he replied, a smile lacing his words.
