Chapter 92: The heavy voice
As Kiara burst through the church doors, a wave of relief washed over her. She could see Enzo at the altar, sitting beside Aubrey, but they had not yet been pronounced husband and wife.
"Thank goodness!" Kiara muttered, feeling a surge of hope as she surveyed the room, her eyes darting from side to side.
The priest, his voice echoing throughout the church, spoke the words one last time.
"If there is anyone here who has a reason why this couple should not be joined together, speak now or forever hold your peace."
And then, as the weight of those words settled over the congregation, a new voice rang out, clear and piercing in the stillness.
Kiara's smile widened, triumph glinting in her eyes, as she watched Aubrey's carefully crafted plans crumble in front of her.
