Lucky, unmoved by her protestations, his face a twisted mask of malevolence, hissed his response. "You will do it, Aubrey. You will do it, or you will be the one to suffer.
"You know what will happen if I reveal your secret. You will have to make him crippled". He says with a tint of conclusion.
Aubrey, her heart a cauldron of conflicting emotions, her face a map of anguish and desperation, pleaded with Lucky, her voice a ragged whisper in the thick silence of the room.
"Please, please, you can ask for anything else, but not this," she implored, her eyes wide with anguish. "I can't…I can't hurt Enzo like this. I love him. What do I gain by making him crippled? How can I do that to the man I love?"
"Don't be stupid, Aubrey," Lucky growled, his eyes a steely glare, his words a lash of contempt. "I thought you were smarter than this. Don't make things difficult for yourself."
