Chapter 47: Finding Kiara
Moth stretched, flexing his limbs as he rose from his bed. It was early, and he was up with the sun. He had a busy day ahead of him – he and his friends were planning to head to city to sell the bush meat they had caught the day before. They had been out all day, hunting and trapping animals in the forest. They had come back with a good haul, and now they were eager to make some money.
As he stretched and yawned, he realized there was no clock in the room to tell him the time. In this village, time was measured by the position of the sun or the cry of the rooster. He could tell by the sun's position that it was early morning, and he could hear the rooster crowing outside. He knew he had to get ready and head to the village square to meet his friends. They were planning to sell their bush meat today, and he didn't want to be late.
