Chapter 4: We Found Your Wife

Dewbrook was a busy city, and Enzo was desperate to find that girl. He tried everything to search for her, but she was still missing. He searched the whole city and even asked the police to help, but she was nowhere to be found. Although Enzo seemed calm on the outside, inside, he felt like a storm was brewing in his heart.

Every time the police found a woman's body, he would check if it was her right away. When it wasn't, he felt relieved. He wished she was alive so he could punish her when he found her.

He couldn't let her die just like that. She still owed him and needed to make up for what she did. However, there was something else. If she was alive, her baby would be eight months old now. It would be ready to be born. 'No, I won't let the woman I hate the most have my child. I won't allow that.'

After another phone call, Enzo's anger erupted, and he angrily threw the file in front of him. He was in his office at the moment, and his outburst startled the female assistant who had just entered to deliver some documents.

She almost stumbled when she saw him venting his rage. Lately, her boss had been easily agitated; he was like a bomb ready to explode at any moment. So, whenever he got angry, everyone tried to stay as quiet as possible.

Suddenly, the phone rang, and the assistant quickly hurried away. Enzo took a deep breath before answering the call. "What is it?"

"Mr. Davis, we found your wife," the cop said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure, sir. She's living in a village in Bloomcrest. We found her through the file in a local hospital. Her name and looks match with your wife's," the cop confirmed.

"Thank you. Give me the address, please."

"Do you need our help with this, Mr. Davis?"

"It's all right. I can take my wife home by myself," Enzo said calmly, but underneath his voice, there was unmistakable fury, like a violent undercurrent beneath a calm sea.

He had waited for too long, and his anger was about to burst. 'So, she has finally appeared. You will taste my wrath, Kiara,' he thought, clenching his fists and contorting his face with rage. Kiara's escape had enraged him, and he wouldn't stop until she faced his wrath.

An hour later, a private jet set off for Bloomcrest.

Zoey Foster led Kiara onto the bus in Bloomcrest. Kiara, in her third trimester of pregnancy, struggles to move with her big belly. Zoey had been taking care of her for the past few months and had grown fond of her. Despite being looked down upon by others for her rural background, Kiara always treated Zoey kindly.

A lady sitting beside Zoey noticed Kiara and gasped, "Oh, my! She's beautiful, like a celebrity."

All the passengers on the bus turned to look at Kiara upon hearing the exclamation. With her fair skin and hair tied up neatly, she looked stunning even with her pregnancy.

"Her husband is one lucky man," someone remarked.

"Yeah, she's a real beauty," another person chimed in.

"So, how many months now?" a lady asked Kiara.

"Eight," Kiara replied with a smile.

"Oh, so you're going into labor soon. Are you here for a checkup?" the lady asked.

"Yes," Kiara nodded.

In the luxurious cabin of his private jet, Enzo leaned back against the couch, staring out the window with a cold look in his eyes. Despite the convenience of his private jet, the journey from Dewbrook to Bloomcrest took nearly two hours. 'She sure can run, can't she?'

At 11.00 AM, four off-road vehicles appeared at the airport, driving toward the terminal.

Meanwhile, Kiara finished her checkup. The baby was healthy, but she was anemic, so the doctor prescribed her some pills. Kiara treated Zoey to lunch, and they shopped around for baby clothes. After shopping, they took a van at 2.00 PM, heading home.

At the same time, four off-road vehicles drove into the village. The man in the second car's back seat looked out the window, observing the downtrodden village. A frown creased his forehead. 'Has she been staying in this place all this time? This is even worse than the boonies. No wonder it took me so long to find her.'

Still, the village had a scenic beauty that the city lacked, with mountains surrounding it and keeping it safely tucked away in a corner.

Once they arrived at the address indicated by the GPS, one of the bodyguards went around to ask about Kiara's whereabouts. He returned a while later with information. "Sir, I've asked around. There's a villager who knows Miss Reynolds, and she said Miss Reynolds has gone to the hospital for a checkup. She will probably get home at 4.00 PM."

Enzo frowned upon hearing that. 'Her baby bump must be big now.' He then looked at the path, which was the only entrance to the village.

'It should be easy to see her here.'

"We'll wait here, then." After saying that, he took out a pack of cigarettes, rolled down the window, and smoked.

A few memories flooded his mind just then. Over the last six months, he had spent a lot of time searching for her, and he was worried for her. He was worried that she might have died. Aside from that, he had been thinking about the baby as well. However, he had covered that up with his indifferent façade so no one could see through him.

He took a deep hit, and frustration filled his mind. 'Hold on a second. Am I pitying that woman? There is no way that's true. Her mother ruined my parents' marriage, and then my father and that homewrecker died in a car crash. We became the butt of everyone's joke. Afterward, my mother got depressed for years and left the house, leaving nothing but a letter for me. Her mother ruined my childhood and my whole life! I will never forgive her. I will torture Kiara until she dies!'

At this moment, a van trudged past the muddy path and stopped on a slightly smooth surface right across from Enzo's car.

The off-road vehicles were conspicuous, especially in this village. Zoey got out of the van and quickly helped Kiara out. Enzo stared at the van. He had a feeling he would see her soon, and just as he had expected, a gray silhouette came out a while later. Kiara was no longer as slender as she was. Even though she still looked thin, the baby bump hindered her movements.

He stared at her face. Even though it'd been six months since he saw her, she didn't seem to lose any weight. Instead, the pregnancy had lent her a hint of allure. A strand of hair tumbled down her forehead, but she pulled it back and smiled happily.

She looked just like a woman who jumped straight out of an oil painting. Beautiful enough to even mesmerize Enzo for a while, but then his face fell, and he got out of the car.
