My eyes widened in surprise, clearly taken aback by Andrew's unexpected request. Thoughts raced through my mind as I contemplated my response. Taking a moment to gather my thoughts, I mustered the courage to speak, my voice filled with sincerity, "I'm sorry, Mr. Collins. I am new to this hospital, and I don't believe I am in a position to become your personal nurse."
Chester interjected, his voice indicating suspicion, "You mentioned your experience earlier," he reminded me.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself as I formulated another lie. "Yes, I did have experience working at Faith Hospital," I explained, my tone measured. "However, I transferred to this hospital only a few days ago, and I don't believe I meet the necessary qualifications for such a role. There are plenty of experienced nurses here who are more than capable of accommodating your needs."
