"Stay here," Andrew commanded, his voice filled with concern, as he noticed me reaching for my bag. We had just finished breakfast, but my appetite was nonexistent.
"But Andy needs to go to school," I protested, trying to assert my independence.
"Rob will take him to school," Andrew asserted firmly, his eyes fixed on me.
"Fine, but I still have work to attend to. There are so many things I need to take care of," I insisted, rising from my seat.
"You need to be prepared. There will be a swarm of reporters waiting for you in your office," he emphasized, his voice laced with worry.
"I'm used to it," I replied firmly, trying to project strength. "I won't let this negative news affect me."
Just then, a text message from my mom beckoned me to return home, and I knew exactly what awaited me. Prepared for the confrontation, I made the decision to stop by before heading to my office.
