I woke up to the sound of a ringing bell, slowly realizing that I had fallen asleep in the cold corner of the room. My gaze shifted to Dominic, still asleep in the metal chair across from me. The thought of escaping crept into my mind, and I cautiously rose to my feet, believing this might be my chance. As I took slow steps, holding my breath, a cold voice abruptly stopped me in my tracks. "Don't you dare," Dominic warned, his words sending a chill down my spine.
My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to explain myself. "I was just..." I began, my voice faltering.
"Shut your mouth," Dominic interrupted, his warning ringing in the air. Slowly rising from his chair, he pressed a hand against his wounded abdomen for support. Concealing his gun beneath his black suit, he made his way towards the stairs. "Follow me," he commanded.
