Millie checked in one the queen one last time before calling it a day. She made her way down to the dungeons.
Two guard stood at the door with blank faces, they both stared at her with narrowed eyes.
"Good evening. I'm here to see the most recent prisoners." Millie said, eyeing them. She made sure to recognize their faces because she'd need to kill them later, they'd be the last ones to see her enter here.
The men nodded.
One opened the door and allowed Millie to enter, she frowned to herself wondering why they offered no resistance. Normally they'd ask whomever was trying to gain entry ever question under the sun.
Somehow, someone else knew that she'd be paying Ronnie's parents a visit. Shaking the feeling off she entered and her eyes slowly adjusted to the dim lighting inside.
Hands reached out to grab at her clothes. They were caked in so much grime and dirt she couldn't tell which if they were humans or elves.
As she passed by she threw pieces of bread she smuggled into her clothes. The ones who were lucky enough to snatch something to eat were immediately set upon by others.
Millie hurried through until she reached where Benigna and Raymundo were being held. Their son was curled up in the corner on his side, silently sobbing.
Benigna crawled toward the cell door. "What are you doing here?"
"What do you think?" Millie hissed.
"It's too risky." Raymundo muttered. "You of all people should know that. This will do us no good, Millie. Please don't."
Millie pulled out the keys she managed to steal from the guard. "I know the risks, Ray. Let me help you."
"You've already helped us enough." Benigna said. "Please. You can't take these risks knowing that your children's lives are at risk."
Raymundo nodded in agreement. "Please. Don't worry about us."
Benigna looked back at her son who was still curled up in the corner. "I'm worried about Fabian. I don't know what'll happen when we're gone, how he'll be treated. And Ronnie." she sniffled. "Promise me you'll watch out for my children."
Millie started to protest.
"Promise." Benigna hissed
Millie opened her mouth to make the promise, but Benigna whimpered and crawled away, staring at something behind Millie. Before she could turn to see what had startled her, she was yanked away from the cell; thrown against the wall.
She heard something snap and Millie cried out.
"Well, Millie, this is quite the surprise." came a cold voice that sent chills running down her spine. A voice she recognized all to well.
"Master Lee. Pleasure meeting you here." Millie hissed. "Whatever are you doing out at this hour?"
"I could ask you the same thing, though that question was already answered." Master Lee said.
Though she could hardly see him she knew that he was smirking. She straightened herself up and gasped when she felt a stinging pain in her chest.
Master Lee then twisted the blade and Millie screamed.
"I'm sure you'll be of no loss to anyone. I'll be sure to give your sons my condolences."
Master Lee turned and walked away, his footsteps fading away, leaving her to die.
