( Eiran Pov )
" Kya!!" I looked behind to see a student trip on the stairs, I looked at my friend, Kashima.
" Get the door. I'll get her!" I shouted as he nodded and ran up the stairs to open the door the leads to the roof.
" Yuriko!" I helped Yuriko to her feet and lifted her up the stairs. I heard rapid footsteps running up the stairs as I looked back to readying my knife that I got from the kichtme to defend us.
" Eiran! Yuriko!" But to my surprise, it was another survival group as they they lowered their weapons in surprise. Teachers and students also managed to survive.
" Klein. Rumi. Everyone. Hurry up the stairs!" I shouted as I heard Zombies running up the stairs.
" Rumi! Help Yuriko up to the roof. Kashima should be up there already." I handed Yuriko to Rumi, who silently nodded.
" Everyone follow her, Klein. Help me." I grabbed Kleins's shoulder, who hesitated as he looked up the stairs where everyone was turning but nodded with a scared face.
" We have to buy time until everyone is able to get onto the roof. The helicopter should be arriving soon." I explained to Klein, who nodded.
" Yeah... We heard from the radio in the broadcasting room." He replied as he readied his baseball bat.
The zombies swarmed up the stairs, some of them shouting and stepping over each other as we kicked, slashed, and hit them back down.
" Shit!" Klien cursed as he tried to take back his foot that was caught by a zombies hand. I quickly kicked the back and pulled Klein up the stairs as we retreated.
Slowly, the zombies began to overwhelm us, and I looked at Klein.
" Get up to the roof. I think they might have some trouble opening the door. Hurry!" I shouted at him as he quickly ran up the stairs.
I felt the adrenaline rushing through my body as I pushed the zombies back. I slashed a female zombie before kicking another away before grabbing a dead zombie and using it as a shield to push them back and make the fall over each other.
( Third Pov )
" Klein! Help us out!" Kashima shouted at Klien, who just arrived. He quickly ran towards him as he looked at the door locked with a chain.
" Help us push!" Kashima looked at Klein before the other as they all nodded and helped bash their shoulders against the door.
" Come on!!!"
" Break damn it!"
" Aaagghhh!!"
They continued to struggle opening the door when finally the chain broke as they rushed through the door.
" Where's Eiran!!" Kashima looked at Klein, who froze.
" Do-down there..." he pointed at the stairs. Kashima gritted his teeth and steeled his resolve, and ran downstairs.
" Kashima!!" One of the teachers shouted as Kashima dodged her and ran through the door.
" Eiran! The doors open!!" Kashima quickly helped Eiran, who nodded and gave a final blow to a zombie before following Kashima up the stairs.
The zombies quickly followed the two chasing them. Once they arrived at the doors, they saw it closed as Kashima and Eiran ram their shoulders into the floor and cracked the doors open.
The others seemed to have locked it again in fear as they all stepped back.
" Open the door!"
" Let us out!!"
Kashima and Eiran shouted as the others refused as they all froze when the zombies arrived behind the two.
They both stopped as they realized the others would leave them to die. They both looked at each other before looking back at the swarm of zombies.
( Eiran Pov )
I stared at Kashima's stupid face one last time. I gritted my teeth and pulled kashima and slashed through the zombies before jumping off the railing that led down to the lower staircase.
" Jump!" I shouted as we both landed on the stairs before pushing the zombies away before running down the hallway.
" To the next Rooftop!!" I shouted as I pulled Kashima from clutches of the horde.
" Ha! Hahaha!!" Kashima laughed as he followed behind me.
" You're one crazy bastard!!" He shouted as we made our way through the bloodied hallway that was littered with dead students and teachers.
We both ran to the east side of the school building, and it wasn't easy as there was a large number of zombies that were in the club rooms.
I swung my knife, and Kashima used his wooden kendo stick from his practice bag. The number of zombies chasing us increased as we ran up the stairs up to the rooftop.
We ram through the doors as they managed to be unlocked, and we both quickly pushed the doors closed, and we held it in that position as there weren't any Locks for the door.
" Fuuucckk!!" Kashima groaned as we both held the door closed, and our tiring bodies were about to give out as we withstood against the zombies bamging against the doors.
Kashima looked to the west side of the school and saw the others on the rooftop.
" those fuckers..." Kashima cursed as I glanced at him.
" Forget them. Focus on keeping the door closed and looking for anything that could help us." I said as I looked around the rooftop.
' Empty... Shit.' I cursed as I realized the rooftop was empty.
" Hey... if... if you want... we could just jump off. Hehehe..." Kashima chuckled nervously, which made me smile.
" Better than take my life than to have someone take it." I replied as we both smiled at each other.
" Right..!" His smile faded away as he looked into the distance.
" What is it?" I asked as I was facing the door, and Kashima was using his back to block the door.
" The helicopter... it's here! We're saved!!" He shouted.
" Haha!" I laughed as I heard the helicopter approaching.
" raaahhh!!!" Bam!!!
The doors were almost opened, and I managed to get a glimpse through the gap.
" Fuck! It's here again! It's alive!!" I shouted at Kashima as I saw his eyes widen in disbelief.
" I thought we killed it!!" He shouted.
" Fuck!" I cursed as we both tried to keep the dors closed but it proved to be challenging as the large zombie tried to ram through the door.
A bull. It's a type of zombie that has mutated and became larger and stronger. They charge at their targets and thrash them around, breaking them before consuming them.
The helicopter was on the other side of the roof and was picking up the others.
" Ahh! Fucking hurry and get us! Get you ass in the helicopter Takeshi!!" Kashima shouted at the others who were boarding the helicopter.
' My body....' I glanced at the bite mark on my left forearm.
' Fuck...' I cried inside as I looked at Kashima amd the helicopter approaching us.
" Kashima..."
Kashima looked at me with a smile.
" We're saved! Don't worry."
Bam!!
" Raaahhhh!!!"
" Kashima. Go." I looked at his disbelief face as I showed him my arm.
" No..." he muttered, but before he could even speak. I pushed him away and held the doors with my back.
" Go!!" I shouted at him as the helicopter decemded and its doors opening. Heaing the helicopter, the zombies began to become more aggressive as the Bull rammed into the door again.
Kashima was pulled into the helicopter by the soldiers as they aimed their weapons at me before approaching me.
They saw the bite mark and looked at each other before shaking their heads. One of them tapped my shoulder before leaving.
And despite Kashima's shouting and struggles, they didn't let him go as they closed the doors, even now I could still hear his screams.
The helicopter began to take off as my body couldn't withstand the bull's and zombies' attacks as they rammed through the door.
Using every energy I have left in my body, I ran off the roof and jumped off. The zombies followed behind me as they too slammed against the ground.
As if I fell to my death, I remembered myself. My dream, life, emotions, and experience I had in my time in Japan. New friends and a time I didn't regret.
' Studying in Japan was a good choice.' My final thought as I felt my head rushing against the ground.
