I chuckled lightly as I watch my little brother's face contort into a mix of annoyance and guilt. This was supposed to be his 18th birthday and the day where I can finally step out of my responsibilities.
For 11 years since our parents died, I alone raised this child to become a proper Alpha. 11 years, I put all my time and effort into building connections, expanding territory and increasing the family's influence. 11 years, I told the love of my life to wait before he finally gave up and left. 11 years, I had to endure the difficult moments alone since a moment of vulnerability can lead to the family's demise. 11 years ago, I was 12 years old, a child who just lost her parents and was left alone with a brother and a big responsibility.

I stare at his eyes that resembles mine before giving him a huge smile. I was still kneeling on the cold hard floor with two men holding my arms. I was humiliated minutes ago in front of an audience, that I myself gathered to attend my brother's birthday ceremony. The very brother that I raised and betrayed me.

I could only laugh emptily as I see a triumpanth smile on my brother's face. Strangely enough I didn't feel like crying. Maybe it's because deep down inside I knew that this will happen sooner or later, but still...
"Of course, I'm the best big sister there is that's why... you better watch your back little Anth, this big sis of yours will rip your head open one day."
"HAHAHAHAHAHA...let's see sister. Take her away now, the transaction is in 3 hours"
Before I knew it the grasp on my arms tightened as one of the men approached me with a handkerchief and shoved it in my nose. Slowly I began to lose consciousness as my surrounding vision began to blur.
