The spall didn't resemble a tracking device like Levi feared it to be, it was just a scrap of metal—orange metal. The orange colour was as a result of the Meetegen-4LV subliming into it, and the covert opposition tactics Lexi had been employing recently.
Translucent sections at the sides of this little piece granted the team a faint view of the intricate circuitry that was nestled within. The etchings and patterns on its surface were the only features Levi could say he had expected to see.
Levi reached for the spall and picked it up between his thumb and index finger, cradling it like a precious diamond gem. Taking a closer glimpse at it, he could sense the grave danger it carried within.
