Seven-year-old Thaddeus gasped, arms flattering wildly as he tried his best to keep himself afloat.
His throat and eyes hurt from the salty sea and his arms were sore and about to give up.
Then his arms sprained a bit from all the excess movements, and his heart clenched in fear. He gasped and cried when he realized he would soon lose strength.
He cried, hopeless, terrified, and soon his arms gave way and he succumbed to the waves. The water completely went over his head and he drank a lot, immediately making him dizzy.
He could only look at the moonlight from the surface going farther and farther, the final bubbles of air leaving his body.
He didn't want to die…
Soon he lost the strength to struggle, his vision darkening, and no matter how his mind tried to fight, his small body simply did not have the strength to do so.
