A golden portal opened up infront of a large, brown mountain void of any trees or signs of life. This mountain was called Mt. Shamiel, this was because it was created by the Angel Shamiel over a thousand years ago. Although no one knows why he created it, although a few of the Angels suspected he did it just to show off, it was treated as a religious site for the humans as they believed that this mountain was blessed by the heavens. Which wasn't completely false as Lucifer could still feel some holy energy radiating from the mountain. He flew to around the mountain looking for any sign of the strange rune but he didn't find any Rune, only a cave in the mountain that wasn't there before. Hopeful, he flew into the cave and due to how small it was he was forced to walk. This cave seemed unnaturally dark as even though Angels could see in the dark, Lucifer couldn't even see his own hands, which means he was in the right place. He created a ball of heavenly fire and continued walking forwards and as he did, he stumbled across the same rune as the one Asmodious showed him carved into the wall.
"Bingo." Lucifer said and moved closer to study the strange rune. He moved the fireball closer for better lighting when something strange happened. Lucifer could feel the holy energy within the fireball being sapped away by the strange rune. The lines of the rune glowed a fierce red and it felt like the darkness around him got thicker, almost like he could cut it with a sword. He hurriedly backed away from the rune both frightened and excited at his new discovery. He quickly took out his note book and wrote down his findings, including a drawing of the strange rune.
"This should be where the scout stopped. Why didn't they go deeper? Were they afraid of the dark or did they see something that scared them?" Lucifer wondered with his hand on his chin. He could imagine the scout being afraid of the unnatural darkness as even he was a bit unnerved by it.
'Well I'm no human but a sacred angelic, I will be able to handle anything that's down there. ' Lucifer thought to himself before going deeper into the cave. The deeper he went the thicker the darkness became and the more energy he had to put into the floating fireball. He soon noticed that the cave started sloping downwards and became more spacious the deeper he went, and soon he entered a spacious chamber. This chamber was as a throne room and using his [Aura Vision], Lucifer could see that there were many connected chambers throughout the mountain just like this one. The chamber had roughly carved pillars, with shelves dug put that held books made by humans and it also had eery red torches.
"Oh, it seems I have a visitor." Lucifer suddenly heard from behind him and he immediately jumped into the air and spread his wings.
"Who are you to sneak up on me, human? State your name or face my wrath." He shouted while gathering holy energy in his hand. As the chamber became even brighter due to the holy energy, Lucifer saw who had sneaked up on him. The person was a man with slightly pale skin, red eyes and black hair. He wore a strange human clothing that, if he remembered correctly, was made in the Araelia kingdom a few hundred miles away from Jaebren, the kingdom he was currently in. It condisted of a red jacket and pants, a black shirt underneath, a black bow tie with a red gem in the middle and a black and white shoes, if I remember correctly it was called a tuxedo, a formal wear worn mainly by nobility of that kingdom.
"Calm down, oh radiant one, I am but a humble traveler and this is my home for the time being." The man said and Lucifer, feeling that something was off, used [Angelic Eyes] to try and see the weird man's status.
[Angelic Eyes failed.]
'What? Impossible.' Lucifer internally panicked but he didn't let it show on his face. The [Angelic Eyes] skill allowed him to see the status of any creature below his tier and the only time it has ever failed before was when he used it on Luciel or any other tier 7 Angel, which could only mean one thing. He instantly used [Aura Vision] to see if he can judge this strange man's strength based on the quantity of his aura. Through his skill he could see a red aura surrounding the man but based on the quantity he was at the very most tier 4. Lucifer mentally sighed in relief but then frowned the next second.
"Tell me your name and your race." He said in a commanding tone.
"My name is Mephistopheles, oh radiant one and I am a Spirit of Chaos." The man said and gave a bow.
"A what? Where on Earth did you come from? I'm sure I have travelled this entire realm and I have never found or even heard of a race like yours." Lucifer frowned
"Oh radiant one, I am not from Earth but another realm known as the underworld." The man, Mephistopheles, said
"What?"
