Chapter 10 - Helicopter Assault Team

Above the Tokyo Tower, a tumultuous storm brewed, where rain and tempest mingled in a frenzied dance. Four helicopters battled through the downpour, their radios buzzing with urgent commands.

"If you sight the target, take it down!"

"Repeat that!"

"If you sight the target, take it down!"

'Szzz...'

"Alpha, received!"

"Bravo, received!"

"Charlie, received!"

"Delta, received!"

Each chopper acknowledged, while beneath them, two hatches opened to reveal heavy machine guns, slowly whirring to life. These helicopters weren't ordinary; they were armed with cutting-edge missiles dubbed 'Storm,' capable of unleashing fifty armor-piercing projectiles in a mere ten seconds, blanketing an area exceeding a hundred meters with devastating firepower.

Additionally, they carried Japan's pride, the 'Lightning' missiles, renowned for their terrifying speed and destructive force, capable of penetrating even the sturdiest of defenses.

"Daring to infiltrate our Japanese airspace, they shall meet their end today!" declared one pilot vehemently. Yet, amid their resolve, doubts lingered: could any craft endure such a violent storm?

'Rumble!'

Lightning illuminated the sky!

Winds roared!

Even these specially outfitted helicopters struggled to ascend amidst the chaos. How could any mysterious aircraft navigate such treacherous conditions? What sort of advanced technology could withstand such a tempest?

"Szzz..."

Static crackled as other aircraft relayed their messages.

"We'll scatter for search. Visibility's too low in this weather."

"Copy that!"

"Roger!"

"Affirmative!"

The helicopters dispersed skillfully, tracing four arcs through the heavens, scouring for any sign of intrusion.

Alpha: "No anomalies!"

Bravo: "All clear!"

Charlie: "Nothing out of the ordinary!"

After a time, three helicopters reported in, but Delta remained silent. On the ground, an officer furrowed his brow, his voice grave. "Delta, what's happening on your end?"

Thunder roared, and Delta's helicopter soared amidst the storm clouds. As they veered apart, the pilot felt an inexplicable weight pressing upon him, as if the very air had turned dense and suffocating. It was akin to sinking beneath the ocean's depths, struggling against currents that threatened to engulf him, leaving him gasping for breath. His mind grew hazy, his vision blurred.

The Delta pilot's eyes were bloodshot, adrenaline coursing through his veins in response to the overwhelming pressure. He gasped for air, each breath heavy and labored, as if trying to inflate a stubborn bellows. The cockpit instruments flickered erratically, the smell of burning metal permeating the air. Gripping the controls tightly, he stared ahead, blood trickling from his lips under the intense strain.

Suddenly, amidst the pitch-black storm, two points of crimson-gold light pierced through the darkness, blindingly bright, like beacons illuminating the abyss. The Delta pilot screamed frantically, "I see him, I think I see him!"

"Delta, requesting permission to engage!"

"Delta, requesting permission to engage!"

In the distance, a vague colossal figure emerged. As it drew nearer, the Delta pilot trembled, blood streaming from his every orifice, consumed by overwhelming fear and pressure. He couldn't discern the chaos unfolding on the cockpit displays anymore. Without waiting for orders from headquarters, the pilot screamed hoarsely and flipped the switch.

"Fire all missiles! Fire all missiles!"

In an instant, a dazzling blaze erupted from the helicopter, like a magnificent flower blossoming amidst the storm and lightning. Storm and Lightning missiles streaked towards their target, flames spewing from the cannons beneath the helicopter.

"Dakka-dakka-dakka!"

In almost no time, a terrifying hail of projectiles rained down, numbering in the hundreds. The firepower tore through the deluge, making even the lightning pale in comparison.

Yet, nothing happened.

There were no explosions, no sounds, not even a spark. All the missiles and bullets were swallowed by the storm clouds, disappearing like water into the sea, without a ripple.

"What's going on? What happened? Delta! Delta! Respond!" The officer on the ground was frantic.

"Delta!"

...

On the other end, the Delta pilot stared blankly ahead. He could hear the wind, sense something approaching.

"Whoosh..."

The clouds churned, rain lashing down. Directly ahead of the helicopter, a massive hand broke through the storm clouds, gleaming with a resplendent black and gold, exuding an indescribable pressure. It was like a mountain crashing from the heavens, unstoppable, unavoidable.

"Boom!"

A tremendous explosion resounded, and the other three helicopters heard it, swiftly turning towards the source.

"Delta! Delta!"

"Alpha here, requesting confirmation!"

On the ground, the officer was beside himself. "Watch out! Whatever's in those clouds... What's happening to you guys?!"

Midway through the officer's sentence, the radio crackled with three more explosions.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Followed by a string of piercing static.

The officer's heart sank. What were those explosions? Had the other three helicopters also fallen?

No, it couldn't be! They were Japan's finest helicopters, manned by elite pilots!

Without hesitation, the officer shouted into the radio.

"Alpha!"

"Bravo!"

"Charlie!"

But there was no response. Only the crackle of electronic interference filled the airwaves.

The entire ground control room fell into silence.

Everyone was in shock, swallowing hard.

Outside the window, the rain poured relentlessly, drumming against the glass.

Inside, there was nothing but the deafening silence of death.

...

In the midst of the tempest, Lithos pressed onward, his form ablaze with fire and lightning intertwined. Behind him, four explosions erupted into fiery bursts. Lithos had long since detected the presence of the four helicopters, yet he harbored no intentions of downing them, nor did he entertain any notions of evading their pursuit.

He continued his solitary march, akin to a lone predator traversing the wilderness, paying no heed to the rodents scurrying in his wake. But should those rodents prove insolent, Lithos had no qualms about crushing them beneath his heel. With a casual flick of his wrist, he dispatched the four helicopters with explosive precision, their demise echoing through the tumultuous night.

Casting his gaze downward, Lithos surveyed the land below, his eyes aglow with a crimson-gold gleam amidst the veil of rain. He exhaled softly. "Mount Fuji, the power coursing through me feels formidable indeed."

Meanwhile, in the Tokyo Tower Security Headquarters, an officer teetered on the brink of madness, his eyes ablaze with fury. With a thunderous roar, he sent a table crashing to the ground. Just days prior, the Prime Minister had personally mandated heightened security, as a critical experiment loomed on the horizon, demanding unwavering vigilance.

"Despite days passing without incident, it's precisely on this pivotal night that chaos erupts!" he bellowed, pounding the ground with his fists, his voice hoarse with rage. "Which nation dares to disrupt us at this crucial juncture?!" He demanded fighter jets be dispatched, steadfast in his belief that they could handle any airborne threat.

Simultaneously, a researcher trembled violently, pointing at a screen with incredulity, as if beholding the inconceivable. "Sir, you need to see this! What... what is this?!"

Meanwhile, beneath Mount Fuji, within the confines of a special research institute, a group of scholars gathered around a lush green sapling nestled amidst the rocky terrain. The tree, no more than a meter tall, thrived amidst the stone, vibrant and alive. There was an aura of mystique surrounding it, merely gazing upon it evoked a sense of tranquility and wonder.

Suddenly, the research facility convulsed violently, causing some researchers to stumble and fall. Curses filled the air. "What's happening? An earthquake?"

Above Mount Fuji, within the dark shroud of rain, a terrifying colossus descended from the thunderous clouds. Towering at three hundred meters, it emanated an aura of divine grandeur, ablaze with flames and radiance. In the astonished gaze of onlookers from afar, it appeared as if a god had descended! It landed heavily upon the summit of Mount Fuji, and as suddenly as the storm had erupted, it ceased. The thunder and dark clouds dissipated entirely, as if by mythic decree, leaving behind a calm, moonlit sky strewn with countless stars.

Within the Tokyo Tower Security Headquarters, silence reigned as all present stood frozen in awe, their perceptions of reality shaken to the core. Eventually, one man managed to croak out, his voice trembling, "Am... am I dreaming? This can't be real, can it?" Even the seasoned officers, who had encountered myriad challenges, stood dumbfounded, their lips quivering, unable to articulate their shock.

They had considered every possibility—stealth aircraft, reconnaissance drones, fighter jets, even humanoid machines—but never had they imagined something like this. What manner of being was this? Standing at three hundred meters, its eyes ablaze with crimson gold, clad in armor that gleamed beneath the starry sky. Flames danced upon its form, as if echoing the intensity of the recent storm. It was a being of godlike proportions, leading a cascade of scarlet radiance, its eyes resembling molten lava. Even through the screen, its overwhelming majesty and power were palpable.

In the hushed confines of the Tokyo Tower Security Headquarters, every soul present shared the same unspoken thought: What manner of being had descended upon them?
