Li Lu turned the tables on Han Ling'er.
Han Ling'er was slightly embarrassed but soon recovered the smile on her lips.
"Li Lu, you can still be arrogant for a couple more days. Once you've completely lost Shu Yu, I'll see if you can still smile."
Shu Yu had known Han Ling'er for equally long, and Li Lu finally said something to spare Shu Yu from utter embarrassment.
"Lulu is right, Ling'er. If you like the school Lulu is attending, prepare for it next year. Maybe you'll be schoolmates the year after."
Shu Yu was being pragmatic. Given Han Ling'er's past grades and intellect, getting into Li Lu's major would be easy for her.
"Brother-in-law, I don't have confidence in myself. My leg... ever since this happened, I feel like everything I do will fail. College is just an unattainable dream for me."
Han Ling'er was constantly playing the victim, never straying from mentioning her leg in conversations.
