Chereads / You're not getting married without me! / Chapter 2 - Long Encountered Past

Chapter 2 - Long Encountered Past

It was exactly seven years ago at Mu University Gates where Zhao Wei had met with Fu Zhihao.

Seven Years Ago @ Mu University:

Zhao Wei was riding furiously on her Cycle, pedaling straight through the gates when she realized that she was late for her Final Exams for her Law Course. With hair stuck out from the edges of her helmet, and her face looked exhausted and filled with dark bags under her eyes– her unruly appearance couldn't look any worse.

Her clothes looked like what she had worn last night going into bed. A flannel-baggy and unappealing shirt.

That's what usually happens to most scholarship students religiously studying for their finals.

Mu University was a top-ranked University in the nation that Zhao Wei had prayed and religiously studied for to get considered. A school for the ridiculously wealthy and the geniuses was difficult enough to even enter through the gates.

'F*ck! If I don't get there on time- I'll be exempted from the exam!'

Pedaling for almost eight kilometers, Zhao Wei tiringly kept pushing through to not miss the biggest exam of her life. That was until–

*CRASH*

The screeching sounds of a large Bently Sports car bumping straight into her bicycle. Within seconds of the rapid impact threw her off course to meet face first with the road and her bike to fly away.

Zhao Wei was for sure sent flying away for miles to hell! Her back ached when she rolled on the floor with a groan. Her face was met with shock and surprise as to what had happened.

The Hell!

*HONK*

With pain in her back, Zhao Wei looked up at the model black Sports Car which had struck her down with, and could only glare back at their indifference. Shit! Are they for real?! Realizing that the person who had hit her did not come out of the car to help– Zhao Wei stood up on her own and looked through the tinted black windows with a glare.

"The Law states, right of the pedestrians and bikers before moving vehicles." Zhao Wei pointed at the car as she approached the tinted window to see who was inside the car.

No response.

"I can report you and sue you for damage." Zhao Wei told the vehicle.

"You can't claim for money if you didn't get hurt." A voice finally came out through the other side of the Sports Car. Finally, the tinted window rolled down, and Zhao Wei scrunched in annoyance to see the most beautiful face that the heavens had ever presented.

What the hell?!

"Excuse me?" Zhao Wei interrupted. "You hit me with your ca–"

"...How did you know whether it was you who had hit my car, or my car had hit you, or rather you had fallen before my car came?" The person inside the car challenged her claims without raising an eyebrow.

Baffled at his explanation, Zhao Wei had nothing else to say! How did anyone have the Audacity to do this and speak like that?!

Zhao Wei finally recognized this cocky voice: it was Fu Zhihao... the son of a famous business group. Scrunching her lips, she realized it wasn't worth getting into a dilemma with any of the rich.

"Look, I sprained my leg after you came close and brushed me and my bicycle off with your car. You can examine the damages done to my bike, it looks like it has been hit by a car." Zhao Wei pointed at her leg and told him, "Hey, I am not asking for compensation. I'm only asking for an apology."

Fu Zhihao looked down at the deep-red cut of this alleged-injured person, claiming that his car had hit them. The chauffeur in the front seat of his sports car, who was also responsible for hitting her, was now sweating profusely at his mistake and had not yet spoken a word.

Fu Zhihao had almost rolled his eyes and looked back at the woman saying, "How much?"

"-Didn't I just make it clear I didn't want compensation?"

"...I don't like to be bothered by trivial matters. So let's just settle this with money." He told Zhao Wei.

...Is this crazy boy deaf?! Trivial matters...?! Isn't this motherfucker– well.. it's not like money is bad.' Zhao Wei couldn't gulp down the idea that she had to bow down to someone and accept their petty money as trampled over her.

How could anyone not show such basic human geniunity? Zhao Wei was sure that this boy was probably a first-year freshman in University, that's why he had been acting immature, but now... this was touching upon her conscience.

She wasn't a beggar. Yet, at the same time she was.

"Is it that hard to come up with an amount?" Fu Zhihao told her impatiently as if he didn't want to waste time with her.

"...No, I'm good." Zhao Wei turned around loathingly as she leaned down in pain to grab her bicycle from the floor after the impact. After giving him a look, she sat back on in her bicycle and pedaled out of the way from the car before Fu Zhihao could speak in surprise:

"H-hey-! What- happened? W-where are you go–" Fu Zhihao yelled after her.

Zhao Wei didn't waste and pedaled as fast as she could, away towards the Mu University's Law Campus to get away from the Sports car. Surely she had lost her mind trying to reason with someone rich?!

Although she could have asked for money to pay for damages, Zhao Wei just couldn't stomach such petty treatment. She wasn't the daughter of an affluent family, but she couldn't accept that she was a beggar either.

Besides, it had also just hit her... he was Fu Zhihao... wasn't he like the heir of the Top five business leaders in the World? If she had just asked him to compensate for money- who knows if he would have sent thugs after her family?!

The Law is literally in the Fu family's favor... they control politics, media, and the world. One word against them is literal hell. That's why Zhao Wei had quickly gotten away from the situation before it escalated. It was the right choice.

Shaking about what had just occurred, Zhao Wei could only pray under her breath that she would make it to the Exam hall in time.

Present Time @ Zhao Family House

"Dinner is ready. Come to eat. " Mother Zhao called out to all the members of the Zhao family. Aunty Wen was sipping tea in the corner as she opened the TV. channel and flipped to the National News.

The other two younger sons of the Zhao family, the twins, Zhao Yuxuan and Zhao Mingze had sat down at the small dinner table of the Zhao Family house. Although twins, both of them share an opposite personality. Zhao Yuxuan was athletic and very strong, showed his strengths in sports, and joined a University Team for Basketball. While Zhao Mingze was studying to become an Employee for the Li-family Corporations.

"Is Aunty Wen trying to get married?" Zhao Yuxuan asked as he sat down, looking at the National news playing on the T.V. "You're always happily looking into the Fu Family's engagement. More than a maiden would herself." He snickered.

"Will you two delinquents stop making a fuss over everything?" Aunty Wen snapped angrily at Zhao Yuxuan. "I know you won't be getting married anytime soon! With an attitude like that no wonder why you don't have a girlfriend yet."

"Oh, how much Aunty Wen wishes to be in her twenties," Zhao Yuxuan teased his aunt.

"What's the big deal about Fu Zhihao's marriage? Don't all rich corporate business men marry the rich?" Zhao Mingze asked softly looking through the news. "It's not as if someone from our class is going to get married into the family."

"Well it's a little different this time you brat," Aunty Wen said, "It is the grandest wedding in a lifetime! Let this old woman have some dream!"

Mother Zhao stifled her laughter as she turned around to find Father Zhao, the head of the Zhao family had entered back home with his briefcase and suit. He had entered quite calmly, as he announced, "Wei'er is back."

...

Shock filled the entire Zhao household. It was as if the name of the dead had been reincarnated and revived back into the household.

"Wei'er..?" Mother Zhao's eyes softened with tears. "D-do you mean that Wei'er is finally back from abroad?"

Father Zhao sighed as he said, "I think so too, I just received an email from an anonymous source saying that she will be back today."

The Zhao sons stood up from their seats in shock at the mention of their older sister... "Jie Jie? You mean, the Zhao Wei is back?"

"Yes, you idiotic delinquents, didn't you hear what your father said?" Aunty Wen said as she kept her eyes glued to the TV. "Well, well... sound like I finally can do my job around this household. " She muttered.

"Mother, what are my grandparents like?" Zhao Zhelan asked sweetly in the limousine as he looked out of the window to see the tall buildings of City X. Zhao Wei, laughed softly as she stroked his hair saying, "You will love them sweet bun; as much as they will love you."

Zhao Zhelan smirked as he said, "...Well I hope that goes the same for my father."

  1. Fu Zhihao shrugged as he rolled up his tinted window of his Sports Bently car saying, "Not apologizing for something I didn't do."
    Huh?! You little MF-
    "Hey-!"
