Chapter 17 - Just a normal day in Talen

"Nelson Virgo, now where'd you run off to?"

Lady Everpeach was now very angry.

There was no way that her King, Andrea would be happy that she let one of the prominent children out of her sight. The guarding sector of Talen said that the boy who came in the other day was quite special.

He was able to survive when even adults like his parent weren't. Paul Creen commonly identified as 'A-429' was very specific when he was describing the boy.

Lady Everpeach was an elder lady, the details on her face were very specific it could not be missed.

The stretchiness of an aged face, the wrinkled, and the always angry and bossy attitude these were her physical attributes.

Everpeach practiced a magic called Active Corpse.

Active Corpse was an ability that wasn't easy to come by, in fact, there was only one current user in all of Talen and that was the crankiest old lady in all of Talen.

By imbuing magic into the recently dead she could control all of them at once sending orders to the frontal cortex of so corpse allowing them to perform like they were still alive.

If this was once the ability of the fallen Origin imagine how he was when he was still alive not only that just imagine the King of the Night and what he could do. That was where some of the fear of him came from.

Lady Everpeach would always try to pretend in front of the kids, but most of them were very perceptive and could easily deduce that there was a catch.

She was the caretaker of the Home of the Wanting and her ever-watchful eye wouldn't let even a single child out of site.

Like an old hag, she would creep and pry into every child's mind and eventually turn them into a weapon for King Andrea.

The almighty king of the Humans was nothing but a power-chasing fraud?

Her reputation was about to change very soon.

The people who knew what the Home of the Wanting was truly about, the so-called higher-ups, the upper echelons of Talen would ridicule her for having such weak resolve and poor control over kids.

...

I sat on the porch of the Home waiting for that cursed hag to come out and 'scold' me.

What a joke.

To think that I would lower myself to such a position to protect a girl whom I had never met prior to this short visit to Talen.

What would my brothers even think?

I waited a while no one had opened the door for me to enter.

After a few more minutes I could hear screams of a full-on abuse.

Who was it?

Was it Aaliyah Walters?

What had she done?

"For the last time, I will ask where is Nelson?", I turned to the door to see through it and my suspicions were correct that hag Everpeach was punishing the innocent Aaliyah for my disappearance.

"I don't know where he is." she was on the verge of tears, but I knew she wouldn't cry or release my location because she was destined to be strong.

This act of defiance made me change my mind.

My full aura that was being masked was forcefully forced out in a burst of magical power and the veil collasped.

My power was at its maximum.

The entirety of Hilderia as a whole could feel the majestic rage of the cursed Origin himself.

I effortlessly pushed the door down with my willpower alone and walked into the Home of the Wanting.

"EVERPEACH!!!"

In an utter fit of rage, I called out her name.

"You will leave the girl alone or face my wrath"

My voice towered the entire city of Talen, and all could hear the voice of authority.

"Just who do you think you are Nelson? Who are you to tell me what to do? Just who are you to leave and return anytime you want? Just who are you? Huh?", her raggedy voice echoed through the home."

I ignored her.

Going straight to Aaliyah who was paralyzed by so many injuries on her body frail body. The boy named Tobi next to here was at the point of death.

"THESE ARE KIDS. YOU HAG"

"Boy watch your tone!"

I released a tiny burst of my pressure again.

Her legs were flailing as she fought to take back control of her body.

"Who do you think you are? I am under orders from the highest of us all King Andrea himself, You dare to stop me?"

"King Andrea will never do such a thing. Just you wait till he returns he will hear] of all these atrocities that you have committed in his absence." Aaliyah's frail body said, the words coming out of her mouth as she began to tear up.

"Foolish naive child, you have no idea what you speak of now do you?" Everpeach questioned her.

Aaliyah was indeed naive, but she wasn't foolish.

She was just a hopeless child who wanted to be loved.

I thought back to what Everpeach said about that power-hungry fool of a King.

"King Andrea, huh?"

*Hahahaha*

I started to laugh uncontrollably, and this seemed to be the drive that the Hag Everpeach needed to go on.

"Who are you? I will ask again for the last time"

"Do not worry Aaliyah you will be fine," I smiled at her reassuring her of her safety if she was with me.

as twenty corpses enveloped me.

She then stretched forth her hands summoning all her corpses to detain me. Before I knew it twenty corpses enveloped me.

"NELSON!!!!"

"Oh, hush you pesky child. What were you expecting? For a child to defeat me? hahaha" she roared in laughter and a false sense of victory thinking that she had won the bout.

My crimson blood-red eyes could be seen from under the mountain of corpses on top of me and with a beam of destruction from my eyes they were incinerated leaving no trace, not even ashes just smoke.

And from it, I emerged with red glowing eyes.

"You once asked who I was," I said with the entire world of Hilderia rumbling under the strain of my power.

"I am the lurker of the Night, the Ultimate Hunter, I am your worst nightmare", I said with a soft voice my eyes glowing redder and a plastered smile of insanity on my face.

"I am the King of the Night."
