Zarqa had given up on trying to keep Ali Baba in his bed and resigned herself to following after him and making sure he didn't worsen his injuries.
The boy was a stranger to resting and taking it easy, even if injured, due to a life of traveling and sneaking around to keep himself fed. He didn't know how to just be idle.
Even if his body hurt too badly, he could not lay around more than he did, he wanted to stretch his muscles. And so, managed to convince the girl to let him walk around for a bit.
So the children found themselves walking, at a slow pace out of consideration for the wounded boy, through the hallways of the castle to the infirmary.
Zarqa fed him up on her own side of that night on the way.
" Why did you stop them from attacking while you were by the river?" The boy couldn't help but ask, wondering why choosing to go along with the kidnappers a little longer.
