The night was quiet and calm, unnervingly so. The lack of any sign of life was never a good omen, Jaber had learned. The moment the wolves stopped howling, was the moment a greater danger loomed around. And so far, none did.
Holding an oil lantern above his head, he squinted into the far distance. There, a dot of light was on the move. " Something is approaching." He reported back to his leader standing behind him.
Sindbad, however, didn't seem to hear him. " He knew it," he mumbled, somewhat amused. " Uncle Harun knew it all. He knew I would come, he knew I would take interest in the whole ordeal, and he absolutely knew I would be asking for a certain something in return. Can you believe that?"
Jaber rolled his eyes. " Yes, in fact, I can. That man was shrewd in every which way. His eyes said it all." The man sounded annoyed, which didn't escape Sindbad's notice.
