Jue Zhu and I ended up finishing most of the cake between us. I waved off a second one, saying "that's enough desserts, I was about to go for something more nourishing."
I went back to the buffet for more meat dishes. From there it basically turned into a full-on feast, first with the three of us, then our Sacred Beasts joined in, though I did tell Chen Huan I'd come down on him hard if he acted too much the glutton. We got so absorbed that Jong had to clear his throat three times before we noticed him—at least that's what he said when he did. "You guys are so rude, feasting without me for so long!"
