Chapter 3 - Shattering reality.

Kenji's heart pounded in his chest as he caught the woman in his arms, her weight surprising him. She held onto him tightly, her breaths shallow and ragged.

"Please," she gasped, her voice barely above a whisper, "go help my younger brother. He's in danger."

Kenji's mind raced with conflicting thoughts. He glanced down at the woman in his arms, her face pale and eyes filled with urgency. She had just narrowly escaped one threat, but the thought of leaving someone in need gnawed at him.

"Where is he?" Kenji asked, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "Tell me where to find him."

The woman managed a weak smile through her pain he's behind that alleyway he's stuck I managed to get out to find help

Kenji nodded, gently placing her on the floor and reassuring her with a squeeze of her hand. "Stay here. I'll be back soon."

The alleyway stretched before me like a dark, winding maze, shadows dancing ominously in the dim light. Gripping my hand tightly, I ventured forward, each step echoing with resolve.

"I have to find him," I muttered, my voice a whisper in the stillness. The urgency of the situation propelled me deeper into the alley, my senses heightened, scanning every shadowed corner for signs of life.

As I neared the end of the alleyway I spotted a small figure on the floor Heart pounding, I quickened my pace, adrenaline surging through me.

"There he is," I breathed out, relief flooding my veins. The young boy lay motionless on the ground, his form barely visible in the faint light. Kneeling beside him, I checked for a pulse or anything just hoping.

As I knelt beside the boy, relief washed over me at the sound of his voice. His words struck me with a mix of concern and curiosity, urging me to understand the ordeal he and his sister had endured.

"What did you see?" I asked gently, my voice barely above a whisper, mindful of his fragile state.

The boy hesitated, his eyes haunted by the memories of what had transpired. "It was... a creature," he finally managed to say, his voice trembling. "It wasn't human. It attacked us my sister tried to protect me..."

His words trailed off, and I could see the pain etched on his face. The gravity of his experience sank in, mingling with my own growing unease which way did this thing go I asked. The boy looked at me with worry and fear and replied he went that way gesturing stay here I'll be back I said comforting him he said thank you his eyes slowly relaxing.

As I neared the end of the alleyway, the faint sound of shuffling echoed against the narrow walls, sending a chill down my spine. Every step felt heavier now, the weight of uncertainty pressing upon me like a suffocating blanket.

"Why did I even do this?" I thought, my mind racing with self-doubt and fear. The events of the night had unfolded with such relentless intensity, each moment pushing me further into a world I never thought I'd confront.

My thoughts swirled with questions, doubts, and a deep-rooted unease. Had I been reckless? Was I prepared for what awaited me at the end of this alley? The darkness seemed to close in around me, shadows elongating with the dying light of the moon.

Yet, amidst the fear, a flicker of determination remained. I couldn't turn back now, not after witnessing the terror that had befallen the woman and her brother. Their faces haunted my thoughts, urging me forward with a solemn promise to uncover the truth and confront whatever malevolent force lurked in the shadow whatever happens it's my fault for getting involved no need for blaming others I thought.

As I neared the end I felt a ominous feeling I stopped thinking deeply if I turned now there was no way out of this I thought.

As I turned the corner of the alleyway, my heart plummeted into my stomach at the sight before me. There, towering ominously amidst the shadows, stood a demon of unimaginable horror. Its massive form was adorned with jagged horns that pierced the darkness like daggers, and wisps of smoke billowed from its twisted, snarling mouth.

I was frozen in place, my mind struggling to comprehend the sheer malevolence emanating from this creature. The air around it seemed to thicken with an oppressive weight, suffocating any semblance of courage or rational thought.

Every instinct screamed at me to flee, to retreat from this primal terror that defied logic and reason. But my body remained rooted to the spot, powerless against the primal fear that held me in its grip.

The demon's eyes, glowing with an unholy light, locked onto mine with a chilling intensity. It was as though it could see into the depths of my soul, savoring the fear that coursed through me like a torrential wave.

Time seemed to stretch into an eternity as we stood locked in this silent confrontation, the world around us fading into insignificance. My breath came in shallow gasps, each heartbeat thundering in my ears like a drumbeat of impending doom.

In that harrowing moment, I realized with stark clarity that I had stumbled upon a threshold between worlds, where the boundaries of reality and nightmare blurred into a horrifying tapestry. This was no mere creature of folklore or myth—it was a living, breathing embodiment of terror that defied explanation.

As I stood there, paralyzed by fear, the demon's voice sliced through the silence like a dagger. Its words reverberated with a sinister amusement, sending a chill down my spine that seemed to freeze me in place.

"So this is what I've been feeling strange the demon mused aloud, its voice low and guttural, tinged with an unsettling satisfaction. "Well, what's one more human to add to my meal plan don't cause a fuss you insignificant worm accept the hand of fate he smiled.

The air around us thickened with malevolence, suffocating any semblance of hope or escape. I felt as though I were trapped in a nightmare, where every rational thought crumbled in the face of this unearthly terror.

The demon's smile widened, revealing rows of sharp, jagged teeth that glinted in the dim light. Its laughter echoed in the confines of the alley, a haunting cacophony that mocked my futile attempts to comprehend the horror before me.

A surge of primal fear surged through me, urging me to flee, to run as far and as fast as I could from this living nightmare. But my legs remained rooted to the spot, as though bound by invisible chains forged from dread and disbelief.

In that agonizing moment, I realized with chilling certainty that I was utterly outmatched, facing a foe whose power and malevolence transcended human comprehension. This was no mere encounter with the supernatural—it was a confrontation with pure, unbridled evil.

As the demon continued to cackle, its eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that seared into my soul. I could feel its hunger, its insatiable desire for suffering and despair, pulsating in the air between us like a palpable force.

Summoning every ounce of willpower, I managed to tear my gaze away from those haunting eyes as I fell to the ground realising this could be it was I living in a nightmare I half expected to jolt up from my bed in fear no such feeling arised I was faced with a bitter face filled with emotions unknown to me before this icy night.
